ICC Under-19 World Cup 2012

India wins, and now for the final- India v Australia on Sunday :)

Good effort by our bowlers in defending a small total. But yet again, we need to improve our batting. Our team should be able to post 250 with ease given that they have played enough games on this track now.

Great comeback by india in this tournament. Love to see them winning on the basis of their bowling.
My support for india in the final.

Excellent show from India. For a change, we batted a lot better today though as icy says, it can improve more since we are a batting heavy nation. But our bowling has been spot on and has been the revelation this tournament. Hope we can carry it into the final. Bowling can win us the tournament and we need to keep up at it.

This has been a real plus for us. After having a look at the other teams, it quite clear that the pitch has been pretty bowler friendly. An Indian side making it to the finals on the basis of its bowling alone- a First by any.

Batting wise-we do have the talent in Prashant Chopra, Chand, Vohra. One guy who has really impressed me since the Asia Cup U-19 is Baba Aparijith, a handy all-round option for the team in the future should he continue to play.

Finally batted somewhat okay, hopefully we can one up this performance against Australia and win the cup.

I've loved the fact that the whole tournament hasn't been a run fest. Great to see scores around 200 being challenging targets, making the batsmen work for their runs and revealing some good bowling. It's OK to do that in tournaments like this, not a lot of spectators or TV viewers who expect runs.

This brings back memories of the ICC CT in 2010 in South Africa. We had a similar situation wherein the batsmen didnt score as many.

So we are in finals. Even though our batting has not really clicked throughout the tournament, I still think our batsman are good enough. Chand, Zol, Baba, Prashant they all look good to me. Baba is a good all-rounder for us. His batting is sensible and bowls decently.

btw, we have to get Cameron Bancroft out early. That guy has played brilliantly throughout the tournament.

I see Bangladesh beat Pakistan yesterday. Too bad it doesn't count for anything (except 7th place) now that we're out.

Anamul Haque has a brilliant future for Bangladesh considering he is the highest run scorer of the tournament so far and did well in the BPL too.

Congrats to Bangla. Seventh is pretty good!

Yeah Anamul's a beast at this! ;)

Excellent start for India. This Ravikanth Singh has been very impressive with the ball this entire tournament. How fast is he with his speeds? He has been among the wickets in the bagfuls this tournament. Passi has been on the expensive side today, but he has also been a standout bowler this tournament.

Hope India can bundle out Australia quickly here and set themselves up for an easy target to become World Champions!

P.s: Looks like not much discussions here. Is it because India are doing well?:pj/k
