Cricket Leagues Feedback, Discussions & Announcements

Any suggestions on what I should do after completing the ongoing LAB V? Yes, I'll complete the delayed ELA final of course. It'll be too stupid to abandon a league with just one game remaining. Lemme finish the CWG stats compilation first. But other than that I think I'll still have the energy to run something..

I was thinking of something along the lines of Test/FC cricket given that I'm in pretty good form with the long format ratings at present. Already asked The Gamer to do a World Test Championship banner for me, but it's not final yet. The WTC I have in mind will be a good deal different from the ones that have run previously on this forum. Rating-wise, it'll obviously be very different and I've thought up a format that'll give associates a fair chance of making it to the tournament.

I'd still like a few opinions. Especially that of @The Author and @Sulaiman7.

No Opinion from me :( i have been involved in all of your leagues (TEST/FC ones)

So why don't have an uncapped associate fc and one day championship? in which all the uncapped associates from every corner of the world could take part in. I see many ideas about associate championships, but the uncapped associate championship will be a very different one, it just won't be fun but the detail will help all of us to increase our knowledge about those players. The only thing I don't like about this idea is that it will again be biased towards one day considering it's the associates.

For test/fc championship, I'd suggest both the international and associate players to take part in, somewhat like First class cricket but of fifty overs. Rules could be like maximum 7 international players in a squad and 4 or 5 in a line up and 11 associates in a squad and 6-7 in a line-up. All I want is to bring in the associates in longer formats, haven't had a league like that.

If I go through with the WTC, there will be a qualifying tournament featuring Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and around 5/6 other associates to decide the last two spots for a 10-team Test tournament. We can get to see these associates there itself.

And I have simulated enough one-day cricket in the past few months, so I'll prefer to do nothing other than FCs for now.

Looks fair enough having both Bangladesh and Zimbabwe featuring for the qualification tournament alongside other associate teams.

So I had a bit of time spare to complete my league.

However, on my new laptop it won't let me open cric-sim. I have tried running through as admin. I have been on properties and changed the settings so it runs like in Windows 7,Vista and XP- but no luck.

Does anyone know how to make it work on windows 8?
Worked for me a month before in Windows 8 but now I am using the Windows Tech Preview. So using PCCS and will have a try on CWS if something is special.

My Suggestion : Go for the PlanetCricket.net Cricket Simulator or the CW Sim as they are made by the PlanetCricket members.
