Once Again Explanation On The Clashes

--> Each Team Plays a Home Match and an Away Match before playing Semi Finals.

--> The Home Team Has an Advantage on the international clashes whereas a particular national team has an advantage on national or domestic player.

In Semi Finals, clashes will be solved using RANDOM.ORG - True Random Number Service website and it will be later explained how!!

Example

  1. If Yuvraj Singh is playing for Perth Panthers as well as Grenada Golems, and Perth Panthers first play a Home match against Golems then first Yuvraj will play for Home team that is Perth and then in next round will play for Grenada Golems.
  2. If Sachin Tendulkar plays for Chennai Comets as well as Wellington then obvious choice is he plays for Chennai until unless a mutual agreement is done by Chennat that he can play for Wellington :)

Any problem managers can please ask. The tournament will start from this Thursday that is 24th February 2011, with 1 warm up each

Welcome to the PC Champion's League 4. This league takes in the top two teams from four of the main 50-over leagues. The leagues are:

Afrikan Premier League run by riz7khan12
Australian Premier League run by Biggy
Indian Premier League run by rahulkhush
New Zealand Premier League run by CG123

This edition of the Champion's League will be staged in South Africa.

Teams will be divided into two groups of four, where they will play each team home and away, culminating in 6 games each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the finals. At the end if it all, only one team can proudly declare themselves the best league team on PlanetCricket.

The International Cricket Council have announced that they have placed sometime Tasmanian coach Jono Choie in charge of the third iteration of the Champion's League. This prestigious tournament will include the top two teams from the Premier Leagues of New Zealand, Australia, England and the African continent. Countries are to lobby for hosting rights, with the host nation being announced in the next week. The Cricket boards in the participating nations are hesitant about playing in the subcontinent however, due to instabilities in those countries. Any other country who wants to host will have to get votes from other cricket nations supporting their application.

Jono Choie has no previous experience organising a league of this size and scale, but knows the logistics involved, having been a part of the previous two editions of the Champion's League as a manager of a participating team. His credentials as a manager are impressive, and he has coached numerous teams in various leagues, including the ones involved in the Champion's League. Jono feels that this tournament will be a great success, especially after the controversies surrounding the previous edition which was eventually abandoned. The tournament comes in a dark time in the cricketing world, with the Pakistan match-fixing scandal, and the rise of T20 to prominence. The Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) will be on hand to prevent any type of match fixing, and it is hoped that this tournament will be a showcase for 50 over cricket, emerging from the shadow of its younger brother, T20.

In such a tournament as the Champion's League, it is likely that high profile players such as AB de Villiers and Jacques Kallis (pictured) will reach the tournament as part of two or more player's teams. The ICC has today announced how such issues will be dealt with. Where a player is eligible for two teams, and they are playing each other, the player will only be able to play for the team from his home nation. This solves conflicts, and the players will not be able to be bribed to play for another team. Where a player is eligible for two teams and neither is from his home nation, then he may not play in that match in order to keep the playing field level. In addition to this, each team is only allowed to play 5 international players per match.

The ICC has also announced the prize money for the tournament. Managers will be paid in vCash based on their team's position and their player's performance throughout the tournament. The winners will receive 5 million vCash, with the runner ups receiving 2.5 million. The third place team will win 1.5 million, and the fourth place team will receive 1 million as consolation for reaching it that far. In addition to this, the top scoring batsman's team will receive 1 million vCash, as will the team whose bowler takes the most wickets. This means that there is a total of 12 million up for grabs.

The two domestic teams to represent England in the Champion's League were decided overnight, with the Taunton Titans securing their place with a last ball victory over Nottingham, while Manchester Cricket Club smashed the Gloucestershire side by 118 runs. While only one match of the finals has been played so far, these two will enter the high profile league on account of their top two finish. Both teams finished on top of the table in the pool play, and are deserved finalists. In the auction they had taken extremely contrasting approaches, Taunton focusing on securing powerful international backing, whereas Manchester relied on the exceptional local talent to get them this far. These strategies appear to have paid off, with the best of 3 finals series having just begun.

These two teams will join African champions the Cape Town Cobras and the runner ups the Bloemfontein Bucks in this prestigious tournament. The Bucks had been the stand out team in the minor premiership, only losing a single game, but couldn't deal with the power and influence of Jacques Kallis in the final.

Four teams are yet to be decided, with the Australian and New Zealand Premier Leagues still to be completed. It is shaping up to be an intense tournament however, a showcase for cricket around the world.

With the New Zealand Premier League getting into its final stages, we can now confirm all 8 teams that will be competing in the Champion's League 3. In addition to the Bloemfontein Bucks, the Cape Town Cobras, Manchester Cricket Club, and the Taunton Titans, we have Melbourne United and Adelaide Lions from the Australian Premier League, and the Otago Volts and the Hawke's Bay Magpies from the New Zealand Premier League.

In Australia, Melbourne had completely dominated the round-robin stages of the league, coming out tops to win the minor premiership ahead of the Gold Coast. Adelaide however had a completely different run to the finals, losing their last game of the round-robin stages, and then having to rely on net run rate and other results to make it through as the sixth placed qualifier. The two sides played in the first round of the finals, with Adelaide winning that. Due to Melbourne's impressive season however, they were safe from elimination, and won their next game with ease to make it into the finals. Adelaide played a close match against Cairns, sneaking home by 7 runs to make it into the final against Melbourne, and book their place in the Champion's League. Melbourne eventually won the final in a extremely one-sided affair, but Adelaide will be looking to redeem themselves in the Champion's League 3.

The New Zealand Premier League season has not yet completed, but both Hawke's Bay and Otago have reached the finals, qualifying themselves for the Champion's League. Otago were seeded first before the start of the season, and showed why as they came top in their group and won the major semi-final to secure their place in the Champion's League 3 with time to spare. Hawke's Bay weren't quite so dominant, but managed to win more than they lost in the pool stages, and then beat both Manawatu and Canterbury, who had topped their pool, to reach the final and the Champion's League 3.

All 8 sides will be eagerly awaiting the start of this prestigious tournament, with the finishing touches being sorted out over the next couple of days. With a bit of luck, the tournament should hopefully start on Thursday, with 6 pool games for each side. These matches will be played daily, before a 2 day rest break next Wednesday and Thursday. The weekend will welcome the finals, where the best of the best will square off to be deemed the Champion of Champion's, and winner of the Champion's League 3.

Host Countries and Fixtures Announced

It has been decided that Australia and New Zealand will co-host the Champion's League. Because of this, both Australian teams have been grouped into one pool, along with Manchester Cricket Club and the Cape Town Cobras, with those pool matches taking place in Australia. The New Zealand teams, and the Taunton Titans and Bloemfontein Bucks will be located in New Zealand and play their matches over there in the other pool. Each team has also been allocated a home ground, where they will hope to build a supporter base to cheer them on. The fixtures are as below:
