I've been playing an English career with Rumple's English custom sliders and having a great time.
I'm getting all manner of dismissals with my left arm pacer, seeing variable weather conditions and definite effects on the different pitch types.
Yes run rates are low for limited overs stuff...
Some slightly odd physics in the new patch. Below is a nick from a straight batted forward defensive shot which has somehow gone 5 feet over the head of my completely oblivious keeper.
I've been tweaking the likenesses for the Associate teams and adding bats, sleeves, glasses etc for weeks to eventually upload and it really does make you wonder what the actual bloody point is.
Stadium creator now has rope sponsors and we have the bowling action of that world class cricketer...
Anyone on Steam able to download Llewellyn's updated SA domestic teams? I've tried pre patch, post patch and downloading the bats separately but everytime it crashes to desktop.
I'd not actually played any matches in England on this game until I just recently started my career as a fast bowler. I'm using the V3 English sliders and what a brilliant experience it's been so far. I played a 4 day match under cloudy skies and the ball was doing all sorts yet in an odi match...
I've done likenesses (not playface) & bats, as accurately as possible given what's in the academy, for all of the Associates. I'll be uploading everything towards the end of the week.
Afghanistan and Sri Lanka really need some love from someone.
Don't mean to hijack your thread btw @AJ MODS
IMHO it's the constant puncturing of the county red ball season with 50 over comp, Blast and now the Hundred which is the problem. When the best part of the summer is given over to T20/100 and red ball marginalised to April-June and basically the autumn how are you supposed to develop spinners...
Forget the sliders, nice excel work!
Seriously though, excellent stuff. I've said it before you guys are keeping this game alive while BA get their house in order.
Fair point. I'd prefer it wasn't Moor to be honest given how much he's played for Zimbabwe. I'd say long term it should be Rock but his batting just doesn't seem good enough currently, especially for the short formats.
Doheny seems the most suited from a batting perspective, if not necessarily...
Might be a good shout for a few years now he's off the county circuit.
Also, annoying that we've lost Jack Carson, who looks to be pretty good, unfortunately throwing his lot in for a county career & possible England honours.
Given the budgets involved and the recent establishment of first class cricket in Ireland I'd say we're doing remarkably well. Looking at Sri Lanka or New Zealand as test playing nations, it took them a considerable amount of time to become competitive.
Ireland have some decent young players...
Career as a fast bowler is unplayable. Going at 6 an over even with Rumple's settings (reduced AI run rate etc), any edge you do extract flies for 4 between gully and cover with nothing going to the slips, some of the shots the AI plays are nothing short of remarkable, 93mph back of a length...
@Late-Cut mate, given that when you download players at the minute the bats don't come too if you've already downloaded the bat, would you mind posting which bats you assigned to which player please?
Good work btw
Random question.
I thought you couldn't overwrite the locked playfaced players, you certainly can't edit their attributes/kit easily. Is that not the case? I seem to have overwritten Quinton de Kock, I thought he was locked and fully playfaced as part of the Southern Brave.
