I've been waiting a decade for a decent cricket game so a month more isn't going kill. Having said that, I always purchase a game on PC if it is available in that format. I do this simply because patches/mods etc. are much more readily available than on consoles. Especially for sports games...
None of my suggestions pertain to gameplay, so in addition to everything listed above, I suggest:
Variable weather during the days play, with conditions perhaps changing between sessions.
The ability to keep the same bowlers bowling at both ends, without being prompted to choose a new bowler...
I tried reversing the SL batting order with some interesting results. First, I reduced all their placement and strenght skills to around 20-30. I left the openers, but put the tail-enders in positions 3,4,5,6. The first couple tailenders slogged and a couple batted normally. I eventually had...
I tried doing this yesterday, although I was a bit more generous with the placement rating. It it seemed to make a marked difference. Many shots that would have flown to the boundary were just being mistimed or going straight to the fielders.
Problems started for me around 35 overs in when...
They've certainly earned some respect from me for actually considering a patch. I don't think any of us should expect the game to be 'perfect' once patched either. I also suspect we might need multiple patches since they will probably miss a few things with the first. Good news nonetheless!
BLC 99 was patched. There was a patch which fixed wides, fielding restrictions and some other stuff. There was also another patch which added a player editor.
I won't be holding my breath for them to patch this.
I can't see why they would HAVE to patch the console version. There's been...
This was my favorite part of the article:
"The last Brian Lara International Cricket was heralded as one of the most realistic cricket sims around and Codemasters has very wisely adopted a 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' policy with the majority of this game, making only minor improvements...
I don't so much mind the limited stadiums. But I think they should at least have more venues, even if that means duplicating/mixing stadiums. I find it silly for example, that in C2K5 and 2K7 you can play every game of a test series at the same ground. EA have gone down a road where a tour of...
I've noticed this a few times already. It looked to me like he was actually leaving the ball alone though. There isn't even a leave the ball button either. I think for the human user the equivalent is just to not play a shot at all! If i remember correctly in BLIC 2005, if you left the ball (ie...
I've wondered about this as well. Did this developer know anything about cricket at all?
I mean leaving the ball is a big part of test cricket, forget about online play for a second. 8 years ago BLC allowed you too leave the ball and the CPU was quite adept at leaving them as well. I just...
Again you're not quite explaining what youre trying to do, are you trying to copy files from pc to pc over the network? or Share a printer etc...? You still haven't told us which version of Windows your running. Are you talking about wireless?
Since you had your "network" running at some...
I really don't think you should even bother spending on RAM, youre already at a Gig. You're not gonna see much improvement in speed at all. Unless you run some RAM intensive programs. Other than upgrading your drivers theres not a whole lot you can do.
I have a Laptop with similar specs...
Laptop ram is somewhat expensive depending on how deep your pockets are.
I assume youre trying to play this on the laptop, what kind of gfx card is in it?
I hate to say this, but laptops are too much headache with these new games. Most of them give problems even with a good card. You''re...
