World XI bought back down to earth with 16 run loss

After their crushing loss just days ago Sri Lanka pulled off a Marvelous vicotry to show the World XI that they have ended this tour on top, The TF25 was arranged after the 2nd ODI was washed out dew to rain. It was then decided all proceeds would be put back into Sri Lanka and their re building process. It was good day for Sri Lankan ccricket as they won a tightly fought match to end a thrilling Series.

Ntini was the most economical bowler.

Sri Lanka batted first and posted a mediocre score going at just over 6. Mainly thanks to a Paul Collingwood over which may have cost the World Xi the match. He was taken for 23 off just one over. Marvin Attapatu played a superb knock to finish off with 39 from 19 balls with 5 sixes. The main batting came from Jayasuriya and Sangakarra with 66 and 53 respectively. For the first time this tour though Jaywardene was out cheaply falling for a golden duck. Ntini came out with the best bowling coming from Ntini 1-21 from his 5 overs.

Dilhara and Mahela set good fields to restrict the World XI

Kevin Pietersen and Shiv Chanderpaul were the only real batsmen that looked like chasing down the target as they scored 50 and 32 respectively both at more than a run a ball. But it was bthe openers Gilly and Gayle who wasted vital deliveries at the top, Gilly taking 64 and Gayle taking 20, They cannot be blamed for the loss as the World Xi will feel they could have done alot better. But it was Dilhara Fernando who basically won the match for Sri Lanka going at 2 an over for his 3 overs.
