With about 2 weeks to go our very own Dean Jones has met up with Indian Skipper Sourav Ganguly to have a little chat about the upcoming season:

DJ: Hello Sourav, nice to meet you.
SG: Nice to meet you too.
DJ: Now tell me, there have been a few surprise selections in the squad, I mean Joshi and Kambli. Care to explain?
SG: Well, yea, they both have been in great form in the domestic scene lately, both in the Ranji Trophy and in county, and their experience gives us the edge and balance we have been looking for for quite a while now.
DJ: I see Jadeja is still in the squad as well.
SG: Well, yea, he has also been in great form in our series against England and New Zealand, so yea we have decided to carry on with him.
DJ: Speaking of form, yours has been a bit off lately, care to explain?
SG: Well, yea, I haven't been playing well for the last few weeks, I haven't played to my potential. But this break off before the series is helping me and I have been striking the ball well in the nets, and hope to perform well, to perform to my best.
DJ: Your thoughts on playing Bangladesh.
SG: Well they are a developing side and shouldn't be taken lightly, but we will aim to win this series. its a good warmup for us before the series in Pakistan, and we hope to do well, the boys are revved up and are ready to do well.
DJ:Thanks for your time Saurav.
SG: No problem Dean.

Interview with Sehwag

Dean Jones has decided to head off for a bit off a stroll through the Indian training camps, and caught a little chat with Sehwag while he was in the nets:

DJ: Good morning Virender.
VS: Good morning Dean.
DJ: So are you looking towards the season up ahead?
VS: Yes I am looking forward to this season, hope to do well and score a few runs.
DJ: Well your current for hasn't been all that good in ODIs, but you have been stunning in tests. Seeing that they are no test matches coming up, do you look forward to carrying that form into the One Day arena?
VJ: yea, I am hoping to do well, to score runs, to maybe get a century or two(smiles). I did pretty well against Pakistan, although I wasn't happy with my performance in the last few ODI's. I hope to stay in there for a while and score a few runs for the team.
DJ: Looking forward to get a bowl in the series?
VJ: (smiles) Yea, maybe get a few overs here and there against Bangladesh. Maybe pick a few wickets.
DJ: Will you look to curve your aggresive style and try and bat out 25-30 overs or will you look to go all out?
VS: Well, it depends on the situation. If we need aroud 5 runs an over I will try to bat out for a while, but if we need to chase a large score, the yea, I will play my natural game.
DJ: thanks for your time.
VS: No problem.
