MATCH REPORT
Australia had the first lucky break, winning the toss, and Ricky Ponting (The Captain) choosing to field first. It was a good choice with both Glen McGrath and Jason Gilespie claiming both Pakistan's openers in the first two overs. But some big hitting from Yousef Youhana (43) and Inzamam-ul-Haq (21) brought the score from 2/11 to 2/62 and Pakistan were back in the game before both Inzamam and Yousef fell victim to the spinning deliveries of Stuart MacGill. From then on Pakistan crawled to 85 from 10.0 Overs losing 8/23 in the last 4 overs of the innings. Ian Harvey Claimed four of those wickets while Shane Warne claimed two.

Australia needed 86 runs from 10 overs at a run rate of 8.6, and from the very first ball Matthew Hayden showed their intent hitting the overpitched ball over mid on for a boundary. Umar Gul the young Fast bowler from Peshawar claimed the vital scalp of Hayden for 11 and Australia were suddenly 1/19. But the newly appointed opening batsman for this match, Ricky Ponting, took control of the game hitting Australia to victory with 22 off the second over. He finally fell for 52 off 19 deliveries. Enter Michael Clarke, the first 2 deliveries he faced he dispatched for boundaries, and Australia sailed home after 6.2 overs at a run rate of 13.77 runs per over.

Typical Aussies scoring at a zillion runs per over :p

You did well playing this at the hard level - whenever I bowl to cpu at 10/20 over matches, most deliveries go for 6

thanx man, ill post each game in the World Championship as i complete them for every1 to read :) and next time ill post sum positve pics about the other team

yeah that would be great - I particularly like the screenies - reminds me of the online matches we used to have with BLC and C2002 :)

Sorry, you have to be part of the "inner circle" to know that ;)

Erm, anyway.........its not really online play in the true sense of the word - its what we called, Play by Email.

e.g, a match is to be played Eng v Aus (player 1 v player 2) 50 over ODI

Player 1 bats first as England. When his 50 overs or innings was complete, he would post screenshots of the innings on the forum and them forward the saved game file to his opponent.

A program was devised whereby you could alter which team the human controlled. This was used so that player 2 can take control of Australia. He would then bat out his innings and post screenshots etc on the forum with the result etc

Honesty was key to play this way. Don't want people who lose 3 wickets in a over, and then reload the game again etc.

Maybe one day we can do this with c2004
