2022 Abu Dhabi T10

Okay so I'm not going to make a big post talking about fixtures and formats and stuff - nobody cares. We're just tuning in to watch batsmen biff it against helpless(ish) bowlers.

And my, what a start to the tournament we've had. Choke met counter-choke, but in the end the team with normal hair beat the team with colourful hair by five wickets

"AS Bangash" appears to be the same Abdul Shakoor who has achieved almost nothing in his career as UAE keeper-batsman. His cymbals and short sleeves behind the stumps give it away.

Honestly, I really like the T10 league. It's junk food cricket and I also love junk food, so maybe it's got something to do with that

I was having a think about what my T10 eleven would be if I was a coach, and I think I'm going to go something like this:

I tried to pick players who're not in the tournament, but honestly I didn't bother checking so I might have poached one or two people

Lots of weird bowling actions in the hope they'll confuse the batsmen
Calum MacLeod to slog-sweep every ball he faces from any spinner

Pretty hyped for this game as well. Pune seem to have gone all-in on being a meme team, as well as investing in wacky bowling actions. Deccan have decided to pick actual good cricketers, but more specifically good cricketers with cricket bellies. Can't wait to watch Shahzad and Azam bat together

This Maratha Arabians bowling attack is barely club standard. Absolutely dreadful, but some nice easy runs for Evin Lewis

Oh yeah that's entirely fair. T10 cricket can be great but the T10 League isn't a great product at all

I do think there need to be some tweaks to the format to bring bowlers back into the hunt a bit.

I'd go with the teams are allowed fove fielders out of the circle at all times except:
The batting powerplay - one over when the batsmen can choose to face only two fielders outside the circle
The bowling powerplay - one ovef where a bowler gets to bowl a third over rather than the usual two

Also, if the series is going to be based in one city, it needs something to keep people interested. I'd suggest a T10 Wotld Series, something like this:

Not really a big fan of the format or of this league. Not having any thing in it for the bowlers is one part of it, but also T10 seems kinda pointless when there's a better version of it out there in T20.

But if this league or format can plan any hand in getting cricket to the Olympics, then may this succeed on the highest of levels.

Yeah, I like the idea of a cricket match that fits neatly into a 90-minute window, but this format would definitely appreciate a couple of tweaks to bring the bowlers a bit more into it
