The Schofield Anderson partnership didnt manage any runs lol!
Schofield on the charge and missing!

Anderson & Flintoff opened the bowling for Lancashire, Anderson was tight but a little expensive at was Flintoff. However Flintoff made the early breakthrough. Pitching the ball up and found the edge of stephenson's batt on the defensive. Jefferson was in great form, and in almost one day mode, however his over aggression was to prove costly as he flighted a catch up to a deep mid on. Hussain also was in great touch but his over aggression told as he got an inside edge onto his own stumps off the slow bowling of middlebrook. The run rate is very healthy but wickets have been falling.

Day 2 Session 2


Lancashire came out on confident mood after a reasonable morning session, they must be please to see the back of hussain. And chapple struck a cruel blow to middlebrook who was caught fending away outside off stump and nicked one to the slip cordon. The pressure appeared to build and flower ran himself out, going for a silly second run. Things were looking good, it was 111 for 4. Then the partnership of Habib and Irani arrived. And suck me off if Lancashires bowling was waward. They went from hero to zero in the amount of time it takes to blow a load. Irani was smashing the bowlers around to all parts, anderson was getting lashed without paying for it. Flintoff was also getting slapped around like a cheap hooker with her pimp, habib dealing out the blows. The 50 partnership came around in no time at all. Soon it was the 100 partnership. Eventually Irani was caught off the bowling from Flintoff, but not before he had brought essex right back into this game along with habib. Habib fell in similar fashion. Anderson came back and took the wicket of Foster who actually looked in good form, but nicked to the keeper. So at tea the score is 239-8. Essex only a few runs behind lancashires total are right back in the game.

Day 2 Session 3


The tail wagged like a dog on crack! 234 quickly turned into 278, lancashire lead by just 1 run. Gough played a nice cameo innings, and was supported nicely by the tail, the match is finely poised. With a bit left to go in the day and two more days to play after this. At the moment a result looks likely, although Lancashire need to show more guts and determination after their dismal first innings performance. Especially considering they chose to bat.
