January 7th 2014. A day no Englishman will forget, as much as they want to. The Ashes were already lost, Swanny and KP had near enough gone too and England's talismanic coach Andy Flower was preparing his departure. A 5-0 whitewash only months after humbling the same opposition at home to retain The Ashes clearly signified the end of a glorious era of English cricket.

England under Flower had achieved it all. They became the first side in 24 years to win an Ashes series down under. They whitewashed and humiliated India at home in 2011 to finally achieve their Number 1 test status. Who can forget May 16th 2010. A day Paul Collingwood made his own, steering England to a first ever ICC event triumph in the Caribbean, the ICC World T20 final. Series were lost in that time, with England's struggles in the UAE against Pakistan, the loss of a series, and years of hard work to become number 1 against South Africa. These coming after a dismal ICC World Cup campaign and the end of Andrew Strauss' career.

Since then, England have achieved, then thrown it away. Peter Moores has taken charge and the ICC World T20 in Bangladesh is on the horizon. Moores and the selectors first job is to find a replacement for Graeme Swann in the spin department, replace the dominant KP, and reignite the spark in a dressing room lower than a Tim Bresnan yorker.

A new era begins now for England, who will join Moores to Bangladesh?
