A Request to Zimrahil! - Field settings.

Hi Zim,

I am babai and I use your config files while playing BLC. I also use your field settings (One day and test). But I request you to make modifications in one day field settings in such a way that the edges should only go to slips and wicket keepers also the fielder should stop most of the shots played by batsman. Also if you could make the fielders in test and one dayers to run the ball & throw the ball back to keep a little bit faster that will be great. I think you will have to make some modifications in your existing one day and test fields.

babai, will make odi fields so that edges only goes to WK and slips for you. Can make faster throws from the outfield too.
However the request for more shots by the batsmen to be stopped by the fielders, please see my reply to saptarshi requesting something similar. You will need to make these changes yourself

normally the fielders only dive etc when they are set to have either "slips" or "close in" type properties when using the field editor. You could set all fielders to these types, the downside being that any edges in the game only goes to fielders of "close in " or "slips" type, so you could edge the ball down to deep mid wicket etc which isn't realistic

However,  I have had fielders of "normal" type field property that do dive and stop the ball occasionally. Using the BLC Editor, I set all my players to have "Excellent" agility rating. I find that it doesn't make an immediate massive difference, but it does help.........

hhm its been one week since i have posted here
ZIM ur patch is really frustrating when i plzy with my friends.....not with Ai..........with AI its great

but when i play with others i am not able to change the field.......when i use BLC -fieldeditor i can't change it.......even if i do he game crashes with those fieids......so the field r bot good for multyplayers........ try change the filed like this.........all the strokes can be played esily to the leg side and the fileds don't have more than 4 fielders on the leg side...........could u change them

I am babai and now I am very please to hear that that you have prepared the field settings as told by me. Also please
send me the same as soon as possible. I alos want to make another comment as please tell me which patch of yours should I use where the computer bats well enough posting a good total as well as loose some wickets so that they are all out posing a total between 250 to 260 in a 50 over ODI.
Also please tell me which of the stroke files should I use with the new field settings.If possible please send me the patch (With config files, field seetings and stroke to me). Also amke sure that in you configs the batsmen (CPU) Shouldnot goinside the wicket(which looks verrrrrrrry odd) and should not jump from one end to other of the wicket to play shots.
In your current patch it happens all the times. please correct the same and send it to me on sweetbabai@rediffmail.com

the field settings have already been sent.
I have created new ODI configs where the CPU sets more challenging totals - will mail them to you asap

As for cpu strokes - I made the cpu play more variety of shots deliberately. Have you not seen Tendulkar move to the off side and whip the ball away to the leg side.
And in ODI's, batsmen will back away to the leg side and whip the ball away over the off side field ???
I did this as I got bored of cpu playing same shots to the same deliveries over and over again.
If you don't like this, then you can always use my stroke patch 30/12/01 where this doesn't happen very often
