The Serpents top order batsman did well on a bowler friendly track. Kohli top scored for the visitors with 58 runs.
The Savages in return started poorly, loosing both openers for 10 runs.Jinnah, Einstein and Bonaparte did well for the homeside, but their lower order batsman and tail crumbelled under the bowling of Rabada and co.

Diamond Eagles begin their campaign in a strong manner.
Going through the warmup game of the Diamond Eagles against Silent Assasins in the ACC.
The Report by Hamish Stevenson.

The teams were set together. The batting of the Eagles were confident that they could stand up against the likes of Imran Khan and Glenn McGrath, and they sure did. The match was highly anticipated as two champion teams were about to face each other. Playing in the home of the Assassins, the Diamond Eagles were sure underdogs. But they came out on top.

Silent Assassins called correctly in the toss and chose to ball first. It turned out to be somewhat a successful decision.

The Diamond Eagles opening batsmen, Sanath Richards and Yash Hirani come out after being put into bat.

The Opening batsmen laid a good foundation as they put together a healthy partnership of 130 runs on a surface that was rather difficult to bat on. Both the batsmen reached their respective fifties in the 25th over, with Sanath happily playing the second fiddle. The boundaries were hard to come by but the openers rotated the strike and laid a good foundation for the batsmen to come. Imran Khan got rid of Sanath, who went back after making 60 runs from 91 balls with 1 four and 3 brutal sixes.

Yash Hirani smashes one to the long off boundary, en route to his innings of 85. He hit 8 4s and 2 6s and gave the Diamond Eagles, a more than handy start.

Then Shivnarine Kirsten, the experienced number 3 batsman, came out and understood the situation, giving more strike to the set batsman, Yash. When Yash seemed all set to make a century, Glenn McGrath got rid of him on 85. But then, Don came in and played a handy cameo of 16 runs. The Diamond Eagles finished on 209/2.

Don Tendulkar and Shivnarine Kirsten gave the innings an explosive finish, peppering boundaries here and there.

Silent Assasins came out, hoping to build a solid partnership on the pitch. However, Waqar Akram, the pace demon of the Diamond Eagles got rid of Damien Fleming trapping him lbw in the very first over. Then Ricky Clarke and Donald Bradman got together and stitched a valuable 87 run partnership, collecting singles and doubles here and there, striking a boundary or two. Their partnership took the game to their favour before Brett struck.

Bradman and Clarke were in good touch as they batted effortlessly together for a 87 run partnership.

But Brett McGrath struck twice in his consecutive overs as he sent Clarke and Messi back to the pavalion. Then, some tidy bowling by Sourav Dravid and Shane Muralitharan made sure that Donald Bradman did not take the game away from them.

Brett McGrath's two wickets were the game changers which made sure that the Assassins did not get back the momentum they once had.

The Diamond Eagles won by 38 runs and proved to everyone, that their team cannot be taken lightly. Yash Hirani, the captain, was awarded the man of the match for his innings of 85.

That's it from Hamish Stevenson, till next time. Stay tuned to Cricflix News.
