Aiming the bowling aim marker

Can someone out there give me a little advice on how to aim the bowling marker. I have tried using the up down left right arrows, I have tried mapping them to my Dpad on my game controller while I can move it around it just jumps all over the place. I am sure there is a technique to this but if it starts short and I pree the up arrow it zooms all the way back and I have no time left to adjust the line.

subtle nudges of the directional pad, then press your button when you find the right spot.

Thanks, I tried that but do not understand your last comment. The thing gives me virtually no time to set it up yet you imply I push a button when done. My problem is I cant get the thing positioned before it just goes to a small dot and I am done. By the time I have been hit for 45 off my first over I am a little frustrated since everything is going wide short etc

Am I pushing a button too soon, to assist here is what I do

Push the start bowl button, directional marker appears, push it around until it goes to a dot (about 3 seconds) and then it just bowls, I push the start bowling button again on the meter to avoid a no ball. A

You don't have much time at all to line the marker up in this game before it sets itself, not to mention the fact that it is very sensitive to the directional arrows. As the other dude said, just nudge it around and press X as soon as it's in a good area to bowl. You should get used to the short time period you have to set it after playing for a while anyways.
