For all you paranoid conspiracy theorists out there. Here's one about the plane that hit The Pentagon on 9/11. Or rather, about the plane that didn't actually hit The Pentagon.

There were many eyewitness accounts that saw a plane running in to the Pentagon sideways. Funny how there was no mention of them.

That is pretty convincing actually, I'm undecided.

The bits about the films not being released could mean that it is true.

Except the films have been released, and they clearly show a plane hitting the pentagon. Also the passengers on the plane are all dead. This conspiracy theory is an insult to all those who died on that terrible day.

And as I've said before, if the US government couldn't cover up watergate, what makes you think they could cover anything up?

The tapes mentioned are of the plane above some route where it was supposed to have gone.

Jeez, what would the US have found easier to do (and what would they have thought would be more convincing), hijack a civilian plane and fly it into a building, or launch a missile or a military plane without anyone noticing it? If their aim was to create a terrorist attack surely they would use the most convincing methods rather than launching a missile into it? Why bother wasting a perfectly good (for the US ) military missile or plane when you could use a civilian one?
And why bother damaging a government building just for the sake of getting into Iraq?

The thing is all these conspiracy theories fall apart when you actually look at them logically. When a tragedy like this happens, the natural human reaction is to assume some complicated plot behind it.

People make up these conspiracy theories (with zero evidence) as the simple explanation is actually quite remarkable. No one wants to believe that a lone gunman could have killed the US president, so all these ridiculous conspiracy theories come up like "The Mafia had JFK shot because he was sleeping with Marilyn Monroe", "The Cubans had Kennedy shot and set Lee Harvey Oswald up to make it look like he'd done it". When the simple truth is that Oswald shot Kennedy because he was a nutter.

The same applies here. You can say all you want that the Americans carried out 9/11 by themselves to give a reason for invading Iraq, but there is no conspiracy. If there was, they'd have made it look like it was the Iraqis that did it. The simple truth is that a group of nutters blinded by the ideology of a madman hijacked a few planes and flew them into buildings.
