Australia V India

After the recent conquering of the West Indians the Aussies will again have a home test series. This time the challengers are India. The Indians have had many months to study and scrutinize the Aussies and how they play and to change their game play to suit the Australian pitches and weather conditions. They have an extremely strong line-up and will be looking to take the series in a stylish fashion. With the likes of Tendulkar, Dravid, Sehwag and Dhoni we are sure to be in for a cracker of a series.

Schedule

1st Test at WACA
2nd Test at Adelaide oval
3rd Test at MCG
4th Test at SCG
5th Test at Gabba

20Twenty match at Gabba

As we can see the Schedule is less demanding of the Indians as there are no ODI's and only 5 tests. The 20twenty game has been included for a bit of fun at the end of the series.

The Indians also held their first training session where the selectors closely monitored the performances of the squad.

Sehwag in the nets

The Australians are clearly pumped after their massive win over the West Indians. Justin Langer and Mike Hussey are in fantastic form while Simon Katich is said to be making a return to test cricket for his great form in the ODI's. The bowling is what many commentators believe will be the Indians main hurdle. "The Aussie attack is irresistible" said mark Nicholas at a recent interview. "You have one guy steaming in from one end bowling 150 or more" "While at the other you have another guy who can bowl the same persistent line time and time again until he gets you out." Nicholas has tipped the Aussies to win the series but by a much narrower margin. "This one, for me it will be the Aussies who probably have a big advantage on their own home turf." "It will still be one of the best series we have seen in a while though"

So join us soon as we watch the Australians take on the Indians in what is shaping up to be a great series...

Ah! Australia vs India. Mate, have you taken MWaugh's threats a bit to serious that you have started a rival series. (Naaah! Just kidding:p) All the best for this one too.

MATCH PREVIEW

waca1.jpg

The Australians have long claimed the WACA as their hunting ground. With it fiery bounce and pace oppostion teams have found it extremely hard to cope with the likes of Brett Lee and Glen McGrath. With the added bonus of speedster Shaun Tait the Indians will be facing a formidable bowling attack. If the Indian batsmen can settle early the WACA's speedy outfield will aid them. Unfortunately the Aussies also have Hussey, Langer and Gilchrist who claim the WACA as their home turf.

Hussey will surely cause problems for the Indians

The Pitch

As we have heard earlier the WACA pitch is hard and fast. Many tip the Indians to struggle with it's bounce and pace. Cracks may begin to appear later in the game which will benefit Shane Warne, Singh and Kumble greatly...

Weather

Day 1: Fine and hot, expected max 32
Day 2: Fine and mild, expected max 29
Day 3: Cloud developing, expected max 25
Day 4: Occaisional rain periods, expected max 26
Day 5: Clearing, expected max 29

Advantage: none

Expert tip: Although Australia did lose to the Windies last time a match was played they will still just get across the line.

The Toss

The toss has been won by the Aussies who have elected to bat, A very good toss to be won for Ricky Ponting.

Now leads head down to the action...

1ST WICKET FALLS AFTER GOOD START

The Australians will be pleased with the progress they have made against the Indians after loosing their first wicket in the 15th over. Matthew Hayden was caught at Gully going for the big lofted cover drive. The Indians will be doubly pleased as Hayden was looking very dangerous...

LANGER REACHES 50

Justin Langer has become the first man of the series to reach a half century. Langer has played his usual aggressive game with smashing cover drives and beutifull off drives. His home crowd gave him a great reception as he flicked a ball off his pads for his 50 which took just 62 balls. Ponting at the other end has been dynamic, The Indians have paid a heavy price for bowling bad lines to the Aussie captain...

LANGER RUN OUT

The crowd favourite Justin langer has been runout for just 67. Yuvraj Singh (who caught Hayden) again had a role in the dismissal. Langer played a lovely cover drive but a brilliant dive and stop from Yuvraj caused indesicion between Langer and Ponting which led to the runout from a superb direct hit. Langer was clearly angry with himself for getting out right after his 50. One thing the Indians must watch out for is the sky-rocketing run rate. Currently it is up around a good ODI level...

PONTING OUT JUST AFTER 50

The Indians have claimed their 3rd and probably most important wicket of the game so far. Ricky Ponting, who had been playing extremely well was fooled by a quicker ball from Tendulkar which resulted in the ball smashing his stumps. Ponting like Langer had just reached his 50 so he will be disappointed at not going on with his innings...
