....................

B) ponting ,smith, gangully ,fleming,r the best right now.....

and for the all time :steve waugh

All time great captains:

Steve Waugh, Clive Lloyd, Imran Khan, The Don, Sobers, Brearley, Cronje (apart from that match fixing)

All Time Great Captains:
Steve Waugh, CLive Lloyd, Hansie Cronje.
I think some ppl (im not implying on this forum) forget wat a great captain Cronje was since his life ban overshadowed his achievements.

Heath Streak is the best caption because he is young and highest wicket taker for Zimbabwe he is not only a good bowler also a nice Batsman

The best captain that I've ever seen is Steve Waugh, it seemed all his decisions that he made, took effect straight away.

Ganguly rules! I mean if you guys say that Steve Waugh is an absolute legend as a captain..then you need to give even more credit to Ganguly as his boys r the ones who defied Waugh the most frequent!
But Ganguly needs to set an example in the field by improving his fielding... WWhenevr i see india play he makes the most misfiel :( ds!

I reckon Ganguly is one of the worst Internation Captain IMO. Maybe with the exception of the minnow teams. And Andrew don't come posting all these stats, about W/L Record.

B) gangully is india's best captain so far ,he as given the youngsters a chance to play and also backed them till the end ,yuvraj and kaif and harbhajan, patel, all had the backing of thier captain,

yuvraj and kaif had played a lot of onedayers before thier knock in the natwest series, harbhajan also played a lot before he took 32 wickets vs aus.
they all had the backing of gangully.even today u can see parthiv patel is a very good ex:how much he enjoys the support of the captain, not to say kaif who has not got a single 50 in the last 14 innings.
and now balaji and pathan,
i remember the tour of the west indies were india was looking for bowlers
and ganguly backed the youngsters like zaheer and nehra,
otherwise the board was thinking of taking some experienced bowlers.

Ganguly and Fleming among the current group.
Steve the best I have seen.
Also have heard alot about Mike Gatting's great captaincy. ;)

One of the most famous captains in the history of cricket. His book "The Art Of Captaincy" is recomended reading at the Australian Cricket Academy.
