Bowling - WTF?

Just installed the PC version of Cricket 2004 today. No patches or other "fixes" installed. Don't have a gamepad but using the keyboard.

When attempting to bowl, the bowling cursor appears to be controlled by someone else, not by me. Sometimes will move side to side across pitch, sometimes in circular motion. There is no freakin way I can get this sucker where I want it. My bowlers do a great imitation of a 4th XI opener spraying all over between gully and backward square!

Any ideas people?
