Well unfortunately I had to work and didn't get to see most of the Aussies in the field, but listening on the radio it sounded like Dhoni and Jadeja had a good milking phase there, running 1s and quite a few 2s. Clarke seemed happy to let them do that. What bought them unstuck? Bringing the field up for the Powerplay!

I guess I don't mind those defensive tactics when you're in front, like Australia was last night, but when defending 130 and they've got 9 wickets in hand? Not so much. But...Clarke was using the same field for the spinners that Bailey did 4 men on the on side were short fine leg and then 3 guys on the fence at square leg, midwicket and long on. That makes me suspicious that it's a Mickey Arthur field or maybe a Doherty field. Bryce McGain on the radio made a point of saying how hard it was to bowl to a field like that for a spinner. Maybe Doherty likes sprinting after the ball to stop 2s...

if its a Mickey Arthur field I wouldnt be too worried, South Africa did destroy us when he was in charge haha. However I do recall when South Africa were here last the commentators would comment on how defensive Smith's fields were but then they would take a wicket next ball haha, so maybe he is on to something.

Bump time. Going by the IPL Smith and White should be in the 11 which means I have a side looking like:

Watson
Warner
White
Hussey
Dussey
Smith
Wade

As you can see now Bailey which means as expected we are trying to find a spot for Bailey.

^Yeah exactly, it was always a risk making a long term decision based on short term factors ie. White's form. I think I mentioned at the time, fairly stupid to start building a team a year before when there are so many things to happen in the meantime. In reality the team for the T20 world cup should have been the best IPL performers + a few of the regulars. Bailey is in neither category.

I don't think Bailey even makes the squad, because you've got that 11 plus Shaun Marsh who's had a good IPL too.
