Is Cook forgiven after victory in the third test?

Many people may criticise what Alistair Cook has done over the past year since England won the Ashes in 2013. But, you have to applaud how well he has dealt with the criticism and how he has bounced back. His batting performance against India in the third test was fantastic apart from the odd moment and he also captained the team magnificently. He declared, twice, at the right time and then helped his team in the field to gain their first victory for almost a year. My question is, Is Alistair Cook forgiven after such a bad run of form?

He has been being criticized for a long time now and I don't think it's fair to say he has dealt with it by bouncing back, because he has been out of form whilst being criticized, and it was always a matter of time before he made runs again because that's how form works.

RE: Cook.
Since Southampton he has played much better. Been a lot straighter and hasn't knicked as much. Seems to be more comfortable. I looked at his stats in the first two tests and the last two (3&4).

Tests 1&2 - Batting average - 12.33
Tests 3&4 - Batting average - 91.00

Something must have clicked inside him. I give him credit for sticking but a lot of this looks better because how poor India are. If he can get us winning consistently against W.Indies and New Zealand ahead of the Ashes next year then I might be convinced that he is better now as a captain. One or two players shouldn't be there but that can be changed.
