Wow, what a stunning game! Not sure my computer can handle it, but this game is definitely one that I am going to get. Command and Conquer 3 lasted me a couple of years, and this game seems to be along the same lines.

March, 2047. A massive nuclear fireball explodes high in the night sky, marking the dramatic beginning to the Third Tiberium War and long-awaited return of the most groundbreaking Real-time Strategy franchise (RTS) of all time.

The critically-acclaimed Command & Conquer? (C&C) series returns with Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars? (C&C 3). Setting the standard for the future of RTS gaming once more, C&C 3 takes you back to where it all began?the Tiberium Universe.

In 2047, Tiberium has blanketed the Earth, which is now divided into zones based on the level of Tiberium infestation. Pristine Blue Zones represent 20% of the planet's surface and are the last refuge of the civilized world. Partially habitable Yellow Zones make up 50% of the planet's surface; most of the world's population lives in these war-torn and ecologically ravaged areas. The remaining 30% of the planet is uninhabitable, a Tiberium wasteland swept by violent Ion Storms. Red Zones are like the surface of an Alien planet.

The infamous Kane has returned to lead the Brotherhood of Nod in a massive global assault on the Global Defense Initiative and the few remaining Blue zones left on the planet. Only you can stop him. The fate of humanity ? and the planet ? is in your hands.

Anyone else going to buy this game?

I really want to get it but I have one question which will make it or break it for me:

Do you have to pay for it when you want to play online, like you do with World Of Warcraf?

Read some good reviews about this. I will try to get it.

I do not think so.. As the previous C&C's didn't cost money to play online.

Yep, the only games that do require you to pay money for online are MMORPGs.

CnC3 will be great, especially for those that like single player (great campaign, videos, etc) .

But atm the online portion is severely lacking. So much for the 'new netcode' EA designed.
GameSpy is absolutely terrible for RTS games.

Many say that the online is all about spamming same units over and over again. Dunno about that myself, haven't been able to play it since my gfx card died. :p

EA will have to balance it, since its in WCG. I'm definitely getting this once the online disconnection problems are sorted! :)

www.cnc3.org - best site for cnc3 stuff.

Great thing about the game is since it still runs on the SAGE engine, even the really old comps can run it. If you've got a GeForce 3 or Radeon 8500 or above, you should be able to run it . (note that the GeForce4 MX series is not supported)
