Do these changes only apply to international games? I've tried changing things according to Boss's tutorial, I've raised things right up in some cases, my GOB file is in the right place, but I'm seeing no visible effects whatsoever...is this because I am playing only county cricket? I have noticed that it says ODI and Test settings in the editor, so that sure seems to mean that it's only internationals. I'd be happy to start playing there if I knew that I could then use the new settings...Gloucestershire will just have to do without me...

OK, I can answer my own question...it does apply to all modes, because I set the bat window to 0.1 in an attempt to bring the runs scored that I'm playing in close to the games I'm not playing in (CPU v. CPU) by both me and the other team and make it less of a slugfest...it reduced the computer team to standing punchbags (I had 5 minutes of great fun trying to hit them in the head) that couldn't even swing the bat, let alone miss the ball...and me...well, no effect...I could still launch it whenever I wanted and score more than the teams in the unwatched games...OK, I can kind of live with it if the gameplay is sort of realistic in my games only...so I set the bat window to something more fair and it becomes slugfest again...so basically, how do you reduce the batting team in visible games, computer OR human, to more realistic totals AND get a few edges here and there? I've used Boss's tutorials and lost confidence in it, because as you can see above, some things he claims affect both us and the CPU, actually only affect the CPU...so someone tell me, what setting should I use to see more edges...and what settings should I use to make the game really difficult for both me and the computer? Once I know that, I can work back towards the original settings and find a good level...as it is, I'm gonna use the game for shooting practice, which is a shame, because I sense a great game somewhere in there...I WANT it to be a great game, but I haven't even seen an edge yet...that's not cricket!!!

I get a few edges. I don't understand how to fix your problem really. Not a great patcher myself.

Try changing the run-rates around? Might make them score at the rate you want while setting them to get a few edges.

I'm getting better at this now...the number's that I've adjusted that have reduced the scoring is the Bat Window Size rather than the Bat Window Ideal Size, which I guess equals the same as having a smaller bat...I'm finding that with 8.0, we're both sometimes missing the ball and when it is connected, it's not always a boundary...I think that the boundary bit IS to do with the Bat Window Ideal size, but the CPU is swinging a lot less harder anyway...it also feels like some edges are on the cards with the smaller bat, so I'm feeling more happy now...
