Sorry if this has been posted, I found some info on this but didnt really understand it!!

I cant play a cover drive off front foot or the on-drive. The combination of right arrow/down arrow and 's' key, produce a leave alone shot. All other combinations work fine.

This means that I can only score through the off side if the ball is so wide that I can play the square drive, usually this ends up in the hands of point!

Does anyone else get this? If so, is there a fix?

I think your timing is off. Practice in the nets, these shots usually work for me...

I KIND OF HAVE A SIMILAR ISSUE. I CANNOT PLAY THE BACK FOOT DRIVE THROUGH THE COVERS WHEN BATTING WITH A RIGHT HANDED BATSMAN. CAN ANYONE HELP.

same Issue

Yeah I am experiencing this problems as whenever I tried to play cover drive the result becomes in defensive shot and I just dont know why the EA sports Team doesnt allow Direction keys to change in the Remap controll options and therefore the PgDn,End,PgUp and Home keys doesnt work so we can play the cover drive and other shots easily so plzz tell me what I haev to do plzzzz tell me the solutiuon if this if possible on my email add i.e

yer i cant play those either, but i advance-down-the-wicket and play them fine 60% of the time. but with on-drives, esp. in test matches, advance down the wicket with NO power boost and you'll get runs every time, providing u dont hav a fielder there (whivch the cpu quite often dusnt)

if you use the keyboard it is not your timing but your keyboards fault. left arm batsman cannot play the cover drive and the right hand batsman cannot play the on drive as down arrow+right arrow does not work in the game. the only remedy is to by a joystick or gamepad and plkay with that. That should solve your problem.

nope. i disagree...that combo works for me and without the patches i used to hit good cover drives too with the keyboard...now i lob them to the fielders...so its something to do with timing and where ur batsman's feet are

byr some keyboards have limitations dont they? he said the ball is left yeah either timing or something wlse try to hit the ball very early to see wheather you can play the shot. experiment

Newer keyboards allow all 4 keys combo's and just emmit a beep.( not sure- correct if wrong, mine is quite new) I can cover-drive with Ganguly and Yuvraj quite fluently and ondrive brilliantly with Tendulkar and Dravid. It is all timing and the placement of your feet along with which ball u chose to hit. From my experience the comp seems to coose which cover/ on drive to play, but the ones which are hit harder(the on drive which looks like slog and off drive where bat slams pitch) are played when ball is fuller and is pitched further on off/on side.

I have tried this in the practice nets too and can NEVER play the cover drive. It would appear that you can do it with some kbds but not others. Might try the controller option.

i can not play on-drive or cover-drive off the backfoot with any batsmen how do you do it?

and with the right hander do you have to come down the wicket to play the cover-drive cos it is annoyin

First- no need to come down the track, u can play it on the front foot. Now, secondly- the backfoot shot, as in real life, needs precise timing and is hard to do with a tailender, practice, practice, practice.
