I don't know how to get the batsman to wear one but here's the fielder wearing a hat and shades. I'm also not sure if I can give them a texture or not...

I'm not sure why it wont work for batsmen (but I dont know that much either.) It could be that the wide-brimmed hat is bigger, and the section for the helmet in the graphics isnt that big??? i dont really know how to explain it better than that..

Unfortunately it seems that it's an unassigned texture so I can't change the colour of the hat or shades. Oh well, nice idea while it lasted...

That's the second time in 12 hours Prakash has had to ask me how I did something!
The answer is I was fiddling about in player editor with hair styles. I came up with this:

Player Editor number; team management number; description

0; 1; shortish hair around grade 4
1; n/a; HB cap in TM, nothing ingame
2; n/a; HB helmet in TM, nothing ingame
3; n/a; HB hat in TM, white hat ingame
4; 2; short hair around grade 2
5; 3; longer hair around grade 6
6; 4; dreadlocks
7; 5; beatles look
8; 6; turban
9; 7; long to shoulders
10; 8; Brett Lee style
11; 9; aussie surfer
12; n/a?; floppy w/ centre parting

Not sure it's 100% accuarate as I did it quite quickly but the point is if you select 1,2 or 3 you can see the player wearing a helmet, cap, or hat in team management. They will then wear the hat without textures when bowling.

These days you are more clever than me . Its quite strange as I cant remember why I included those unused numbers in the editor

so barmyarmy as I see from your fiddling around with the player editor you had mentioned above there is hats ingame Hope prakash who is the creator of the editor will hopefully look into it and try and add hats in the player editor.
