Amazing win! Wonderful to see Perera channel his aggressive side a bit more regardless of the situation of the match. The bowlers, as always, were wonderful and exploited the conditions perfectly. Jadeja and Chakravarthy can do no wrong, and it's also a massive positive seeing Ramesh and Chaturanga continue their form.

Aztamullah Omarzai blitzkrieg leads to Ratnapura's second victory of the season in a thrilling encounter at Kandy.
Put in to bat, Sunrisers Kandy got off to a brisk start through Kusal Mendis and Abhishek Sharma. While Mendis fell early, Sharma was in top gear, blasting 118 off just 91 balls with 16 boundaries and three sixes. He anchored the innings alongside Virat Kohli, who contributed a patient 57. However, a flurry of middle-order wickets derailed Kandy’s momentum, with the side managing only 71 runs in the final 15 overs. Despite the collapse, they posted a competitive 286/9, thanks largely to Sharma’s brilliance.
Ratnapura’s reply began shakily. Marco Jansen struck early, removing Pulindu Perera and the dangerous Babar Azam, leaving them reeling at 33/2. But Brandon McMullen counterattacked with a fluent 47, and while wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, the game tilted dramatically when Omarzai walked in.
What followed was an innings of power and poise—Omarzai smashed 104 from just 61 balls, peppering the boundary with 10 fours and six sixes. He stitched vital partnerships with Asalanka and Dinusha to keep the chase alive. Even after his dismissal, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Dilshan Madushanka calmly soaked up the pressure and completed the job with nearly four overs to spare.
