Firefox and IE aren't picking up my internet connection or anything every time i open them it just comes up with

"Address not found"

hardly tries to load the page at all, im on Google Chrome at the moment and that is working fine. ive tried to re install Firefox and had no luck with it also deleting cookies and such. ive been using FF for like a year

If you are using Avast, disable the Web-scanner. There is some conflict with a port.

Or, if you are using any other antivirus, try disabling it, and then try browsing.

When I installed ZoneAlarm (firewall) I had a problem connecting, seriously slow at times, fast at others, not connecting at others. I fiddled about with the settings and got it to work.

Also, what version is your FF? 3.0.7 is the latest.

Its not a problem with firefox or IE. It is certainly something to do with the http port setting. (port 80) in his antivirus.
I had a similar problem, and after days of agony, and fiddling around with all my computer's settings, I finally realized that the culprit was Avast's Web-scanner, where there was a settings problem with the http port.

i have kaspersky but yeah its disabled and still no luck, and yeah its 3.0.7
