Game Over - Brett Lee concedes Test career is probably over

Can I ask what the original title was?

A great player for us though, true sportsman and kept on running in hard when there was no success.

Hopefully he can still thrive in the One Day arena....

It's for the best, with Siddle starting to become the new Lee there is less need for him in the Test arena. His pace can still be useful in ODIs and he has shown that hes still a very good ODI bowler.

Brett Lee will be around for a long time. Even after his International retirement I bet we will see him playing IPL and the sort until he is just shy of 40.

That being said I will really miss watching that man bowl in Test matches. Few fast bowlers left that give 100% on every delivery. A bloody shame he was left out of the Ashes.

Sorry, but where does he say the exact words "My test career is probably over". He doesn't. I don't buy into this rubbish. He said today that he's going to keep fighting for his spot in the team and still thinks he can play in the test side.

NUTS! I really loved Brett, excellent player and great to watch, his enthusiasm and passion was excellent, please dont go...

Shame on CA for letting this happen to the worlds best bowler. When they are supposed to encourage lee during this tough period , he is being left down like this . And nowhere lee has said that his test career is probably over. The OP, Better keep this kind of sensationalism to indian players only

I wish this is all false, Lee is the trademark of the fast bowlers!

What sensationalism did I create? He gave a interview which the reporters collected that he is on the verge of quitting tests. Why dont you read the article properly before blasting your trap.

more evidence......

Lee weighs his future - Cricket - Sport - smh.com.au

''It's got to be there in his mind somewhere, [retirement from Test cricket] has to be considered,'' Maxwell said. "He will definitely be playing international cricket, but what forms he will play in will have to be decided.''

This is coming from his manager Neil Maxwell after they discussed with each other.............

It's gonna be hard for him, missing ANOTHER summer and letting the younger quicks have their time to impress. But, if they don't...Lee will be wanted and needed for next summer's Ashes. I still think he's very valuable, not just as a bowler but with bat, in the field and in the dressing room.

That said, I can totally see him deciding to focus on ODIs (a la Flintoff) until the '11 World Cup, and making a final decision after that.
