I am not able to use some .gif images as my avatars. I upload them but they just remain as a jpeg pictures and they doesn't appear to animate. However few .gif images animate like my present one. Any solution?

Nah they are not over size, they are below 20kb and have 100 X 100 res.

Dont really know about that maybe modes can help but why can't you upload them in png or bmp won't they work?

GIF= animated.

Had similar problem many a times always failed to have any animated avatar even though it's within the limit.

Most likely is it IS oversized even though you think it's under the 30k limit. You'll find if you trim a couple of "k" off, it'll be fine.

No i am pretty sure that the file is less than 30kb or even less than 20kb, that's what the Properties show.

I've had this loads of times and trimming the dimensions, saving with a different optimisation level or knocking off a frame always does the trick. Remember it's not the size on your hard drive, its the size it is on the server that counts.
