That is straight. I have told him the place he can find the solution in his manual. No need to post segments of the manual in here, when everybody with the game already has it.

The point is that this forum deplores videogame piracy as lack of money is one of the reason EA releases such shabby cricket games. If he has the official game and thus the manual Andrew's advice would give him his answer straight away. If he doesn't he shouldn't expect any help from this forum.

as lack of money is one of the reason EA releases such shabby cricket games.
lol you are joking right?
one of the most successful software companies ever has no money thus making shit games. oh please
what about the likes of medal of honour, BF1942 and vietnam, need for speed ,fifa series etc etc.
all good games but according to your theory should be shit cos EA dont have any money

No, my theory says that the money EA put into development is directly proportional to the sales of a game. Therefore the more money a cricket game makes the more money EA will spend on it. If sales are low because of piracy the budget for the next EA cricket game will be low. My point has nothing whatsoever to do with how much money EA has or how successful they are, it's simply a point about supply and demand. I don't see why I should pay full price for a shit game because someone else is downloading it for free off the net.
The reason the games you mention are good is because they sell well and also because there is competiton for those sorts of games (e.g Konami with Pro-Ev). When someone else decides to make a cricket game or when sales increase to a higher level, EA may bother spending money on such trivial matters as bug testing etc but until then I'm feel wholly justifued in blaming piracy for the shabby standard of what they are currently releasing.

yif you honestly think piracy is the cause of game prices being high and games being shit then you need to wake up and smell the proverbial cheese

games have been expensive since the dawn of creation and always be, even if piracy was totally irradicated.
console games piracy happens far less than pc games but does that mean the games are cheaper? nope

games may sell well but that isnt why theyre good, when theyre making a game how are they to know it will sell well?
just because theres competition for differnet genres of games it doesnt mean software developers make games to the best of their abilitys, theres plenty of crap fps team based shooters out there along with racing games etc.

you shouldnt believe everything you read about piracy.
you probably believe that cd sales are down. maybe it has everything to do with the fact that lp and cassette sales are no longer included in the sales figures. where they used to be sales figures were much higher, without those it makes it look as if cd sales have gone down when in fact they havent.

or maybe piracy is killing the movie industry, despite the fact that cinema goers increase every year and dvd sales go up annually too.

fair enough if you dont believe in piracy, everyones entitled to an opinion, but dont assume the bloke has a pirate copy before having a go at him, find out then have a go at him.
and dont believe everything you read either.

Ok, I accept a bit of what you say but we get a hell of a lot of people with pirated versions on this forum asking questions very simular to this one. If he has a legit copy of the game then the advice he was given will solve his problem. It's not so much about trying to tell who has a pirated version and who doesn't as attempting to give advice that will only be useful to people with official versions.

barmyarmy, please dont take my post as trying to start an arguement.
i take your point that many people come asking questions who have pirate copies, but you seemed to accuse him of this without really knowing.

there are stupid people out there who actually dont think to read manuals at all :D

on the other hand piracy can be good for a game(i admit not very often).
someone may like the look of a game but not want to fork out ?40 for it without knowing what its like, often game demos dont give you a true indication of what the full game is like.
many people download games to see if they like them, then if they do tyhey go out and buy them. same with music really. its always nice to have the box with nice cover, pretty disc and manual anyway :)

hope i didnt offend
