Help me guys - Problems with .exe

Hello Guys,
I downloaded the Cricket2002 demo and installed it without any hassles.But while I click on the exe file, a message said " a required dll file,d3d8.dll is missing".Then I downloaded and installed it in Cricket2002 folder.Then another message appears "The D3D8.dll file is linked to missing export DDRAW.dlldEntry18" accompanied by another message "A device attached to the system is not functioning" .Kindly let me know whether u have d3d8.dll file installed by the demo in the game folder.I have it even in windows/system dir. as well.Kindly help

i think u need to update ur directx

goto microsoft site or windows update site and download directx 8.1 and install it

otherwise u can try some cds which come with the magazines
