help with controls plzzzzz

hey guys .....just installed cricket 2004 (downloaded copy off the net) ....just wondering about controls during batting ...im using the default controls (a,s,d,w) but when i go to bat ....and i hit any of those keys, only the s key plays a defensive shot ....how do you produce shots etc?? (i know this might be a stupid question .......sorry)
