help with hex editing

ive been wanting to edit team names by using a hex editor but can't find how to do it. can somebody please send in a exe editing tutorial.

Just search the exe with a decent hex editor and replace the appropriate ASCII strings. Unfortunately the best resource on this, cricket2002.tk forums, has been lost.
