I have a problem...

...with this forum. Having read the rules, there's a lot of stuff banned, but unfortunately, arrogance isn't one of them. Some people asking genuine questions get a response to search the forum, then write 'Topic Closed' at the bottom. Who are you to decide when a topic should be closed? And even if the answer to someone's question is somewhere else, would it really kill you to post it again?

Plus, you're all so self-righteous, in regards to your stance on piracy, aren't you? I've never bought a pirate game, admittedly, but I certainly wouldn't persecute anyone who did. Piracy has been around as long as games have existed, and contrary to popular opinion, has never pushed the price of games up. I'm willing to stake money on you using Kazaa or whatever to download music, so what's the difference?

:D i dont agree with u here mate ,every forum has a rule ,and u just have to follow the rules.

i myself use kazaa and many p2p spftwares ,but i dont download music,or anything ,cuz it doesnt intrest me much, but i like movies ,which i get more cheaply on rent ,so there is no point in downloading it.

i use p2p mostly for some files or document which are free, and only available on kazaa ,cuz it is a big network,
but u cant call everyone a pirate

I agree with you, it frustrates me greatly when a person new to the game and forum comes in and asks what may seem a silly question and the moderators close the topic. Why close the topic? Just answering the question is easier, and it doesn't piss off the people that ask the questions.

Who in their right mind searches through pages of forum posts looking for the answer to a question as simple as "How do I change the field settings?" or "How do I play the reverse sweep?" .
People here are willing to answer these questions, and when the moderators deny them the opportunity it is not fair.

However, I think the forum stance on piracy is fair. Sure, people pirate stuff, I have done it myself. But the forum should not condone it by allowing posts about illegal things.

The forum's stance on piracy is absolutely correct and I welcome it........

...but like some others I do find annoying the arrogance of the few who dismiss newcomers' questions with 'do a search' - which is in effect 'bog off' - which discourages people from participating in the forum.

I'm sure we are all grateful for the work that administrators, modders etc. do here and yes newbies ask the same old questions but isn't this supposed to a community and won't the same nebies start answering those irritating questions themselves eventually instead?

I'm new here (not new to forums and bulletin boards though) and I was quite annoyed by the amount of "Do a search for it" comments.

I came here looking for a few pointers, I observed that a few questions relating to my problem were asked...great I thought, only to delve into each thread and find that they were answered with "This has already been answered". I did a search, and the topics are usually answered once (and even then, vaguely) and it's like finding a needle in a haystack sometimes.

well ur rite but we usually close the topics as " Topic Closed " only if the topic has been answered more then once if not we usually answer a bit that can help and tell the person to search for it...i dont any harm here

The reason there are so many "Search the forum" replies is quite simple.

By signing up to the forum, you agree to abide by it's rules. These clearly state "research your post". This means search the forum. By reposting something that has already been asked, you quite clearly show that you have neglected to read the rules, which is not going to get you much respect. The rules also indicate the forums zero-tolerance policy on piracy.

If you don't like the rules, fair enough. No-one is forcing you to come here. If you have a genuine complaint, please PM the Admin of the forum.

:D andrew one question for u ,is it possible that the old topics may be deleted ,and u may think it is answered ,
cuz after reading these coments i tried the search for the first time ,i dint have to search before cuz i read all the posts, anyway my search returned with a error,

:D oh ok found it ,there is a option for how many days old posts
