Kerry, the short answer is 'NO'. ICC2001 is, in reality, the same game as ICC2002. ICC2002 was just an update to ICC2001 and therefore has an encrypted database.

But, the good news is the guys at the Cricketweb.net ICC forums have been working on deciphering the database and with the help of a decrypt/encrypt program have almost cracked it.

so what your saying is that a ICC 2002 editor will work the same on ICC 2001?

Yes -- is the short answer. As Straw says above the databases are the same, so in theory it should work with both versions.

I have ICC2002 and 'Magpie' (the working title of the editor) reads my database fine.

Matt -- You can't get updated databases just yet. The Editor is only capable of letting you view the database, but not make changes other than a couple of cosmetic changes such as Team Name. You can't change or add players yet.

The designers of 'Magpie' have hit a snag with the editor and are working with one of ICC2002's programmers to try and get Empire Interactive to help out a little seeing as the game line has been discontinued and the on-line servers have been closed down.
