Interesting side. Symonds, Watson and North in the same side is interesting. A bit heavy on the batting but if you play a few allrounds its ok. Nice start mate kiu.
Ricky Ponting at the toss said that this team is the team he would like to see going into the first test against the West Indies but Michael Clarke will be in their for the First Test

Day 1
Day 1 Started good for Australia with a 72 run opening stand for P.Jaques and M.Hayden before P.Jaques was plumb infront lbw to Crandon. Ricky ponting came in but didnt last long only making 24 of 45 balls before being run out from a direct hit.But at the other end M.hayden was going on smoothly and dominating like he ussualy does Michael hussey didnt go on from his start only making 29 but while he was doing that M.Hayden brang up a really good hundred wich showed that his age isnt holding him back. Hayden fell on 143 for 215 balls with a brilliant ball from griffith wich hayden completely missed. Before this match everyone knew that it was going to be a game that decided who would start in the first test match between North and Symonds both players ended day 1 with scores over 50 Symonds 60 not out of 97 balls and North on 89 of 171 balls. Australia 4/395 of 107 overs
Day 2
Day 2 was one for Marcus North and Andrew Symonds to remember both bringing up their hundreds North falling on 124 and Symonds Falling on 142. Brad Hadin and Mitchell Johnson fell cheaply after then and a nice contribution of 32 from Brett Lee gave Australia a huge score of 8/569 Declared. Guyana Started their innings horribly with Arjune getting out LBW to Brett Lee first ball and in the same over Deonarine was out caught after only facing 2 balls. Johnson then continued the fashion picking up Sarwans wicket. From that nothing else changed for Guyana with Brett Lee Stuart Cark Mitchell Johnson and even the 1 Wicket for Symonds destroyed Guyana wich left them at all out for 105 for 40 overs Lee picked up 3 wickets johnson, clark and MacGill picked up 2 wickets and Symonds 1 wicket. Australia then asked Guyana to follow on and they lost the 1 wicket finishing on 1/21 after 7 overs. Aus 8/569 dec 158.3 overs Guyana 105 all out 40 overs
Guyana 1/21 7 overs
Day 3
Day 3 was no diffrent from day 2 for Australia. The only good thing for Guyana was a solid 90 not out for chattergoon. But no one else stood up for Guyana with the main destroyers for Australia being Symonds 4-33 and Brett Lee 3-37. Australia knocking a poor Guyana over for 208 and in the end winning by an innings and 256 Aus 8/569 dec 158.3 overs Guyana 105 all out 40 overs
Guyana 208 all out 75.2 overs
After Australia demolished Guyana it was time to think about the 1st test against the Windies Adam was happy to answer the questions from the press
Journalist:its going to be a hard desicion of who to leave out in the 1st test with North and Symonds both scoring century's wich one do you think is in front in terms of playing in the first test
Adam Gilchrist: Its a tough desicion but its good to be able to have desicions like that as it shows we as a group have alot of good players triying to get into the starting XI if i had to choose a player out of the two to be in front i would have to go with symonds he is a very handy allrounder and has test level experience in his favour.
Journalist:At no point in the game did Australia look in trouble did you still have some nerves though?
Adam Gilchrist:I was nervous going into the match i was thinking to myself had i chosen the right XI but i guess in the end i had
Journalist:Why was michael clarke not in the tour match?
Adam Gilchrist:He was very close to playing but he had a virus so we were playing it on the safe side
Journalist:If you are successful and win most of your matches as coach and Cricket Australia do hand you a contract for lets say 2 years would you take it?
Adam Gilchrist:Ask me that in about a months time and then ill be able to answer you
The post match press confrence ended with Adam saying "i would be pretty shocked if we did loose"
Australia's first test match in the West Indies starts today with Brad Haddin makings his debut. Australia are in good form beating Guyana by an innings and 256 runs.
At the toss Ricky Ponting won it and elected to bat saying he felt his team were favourites.
Day 1
Day 1 Phill Jaques and Mathew Hayden got Australia of to one of its best starts in years by putting together a partnership of 192 with phil jaques making 85 of that and mathew hayden scoring his second centruy in a row making 103. From there it was a massive change with the West Indies dominating from their picking up 5 wickets for 118 runs mainly thanks to Bravo and Collymore Hussey Clarke and Symonds all failed to get over 20 but its The Australian captain Ponting on 65 not out and Haddin on debut on 7 not out of 38 balls. Australia will be looking to get to a score around 420 considering where they are at and players like Mitchell Johnson and Brett Lee very handy with the bat Aus 5/310 of 93 overs
Day 2
Day 2 and Ponting got out first over in the day wich set the tone for the rest of the Australian tail Australia was Bowled out for 365 only adding 55 onto their over night score Brad Haddin was the batsmen left on 30 Not Out. West Indies started their innings of strongly with a 74 runs partnership and a 54 run partnership with Devon Smith making 55 But from there just like the Australian Innings the middle order collapsed. The only Contribution in the Middle order for the Windies was Richards making 36 not out. For the Australians it was the 3 seamers Lee,Johnson and Clark Picking up 2 wickets each and Symonds with 3 wickets wich left the West Indies all out for 221 From 70.1 overs. Aus 365 all out from 115 overs Windies 221 all out from 70.1 overs
Day 3
Day 3 and it was Australias chance to increase their lead to around 450 starts from 6 of their top 7 batsmen helped Australia in their way to making a lead of 450 but they needed a batsmen to go on and it looked like Hussey would but he was out LBW to Sammy on 64 Taylor and Collymore for West Indies both picked up 3 wickets wich made it so Australia wernt allowed to get a lead of more than 424 if it wernt for Johnsons 35 not out it could of been less. Australia are still heavy favourites and the Windies would need to do something special to chase it down. Aus 365 all out from 115 overs Windies 221 all out from 70.1 overs Aus 280 all out from 86.4 overs
Day 4
Day 4 and the West Indies needed 425 to win and Asutralia needed 10 wickets to come out with a victory. But none of the West Indian batsmen reached 50 the closest was 47 from number 3 Chanderpaul Wickets kept on falling throughout the day and brett lee was Australias top wicket tacker for the innings with 4 wickets. Stuart Clark and Stuart MacGill both picked up 2 wickets and by the end of the day the Windies were bowled out for 253 171 runs short of their target. Aus 365 all out from 115 overs Windies 221 all out from 70.1 overs Aus 280 all out from 86.4 overs Windies 253 all out from 90.3 overs
After Australias convincing win we had a talk with Australian Coach Adam Gilchrist
Journalist:You played well at any point going into day four were u worried that you could lose
Adam Gilchrist:Not really i have alot of confidence in my bowlers
Journalist:Michael Clarke failed twice in the game is their any chance that marcus north will come back in the team and do you think their will be any changes to the team in the next game?
Adam Gilchrist:Michael Clarke wont be dropped because of two low scores he is our vice captain. their is a chance that north could be in the team for the next game but not a very big chance and same with shane watson if the wicket wont be turning he might just take the place of MacGill but that isnt very likely
Journalist:Hayden and Jaques got you of to a great start in the first innings was it a shame that you didnt make a bigger score?
Adam Gilchrist:Yes it was a shame that we didnt get a bigger score but thats cricket
Journalist:in both innings your middle order didnt really bat that well what are you going to do about that?
Adam Gilchrist:Theres not alot i can do myself but the players can do alot by batting in the nets
Day 1 of the 2nd test and after choosing to bat the West Indies lost Gayle and Chanderpaul early to the bowling of Lee and MacGill but strong batting from Smith,Sarwan and samuels got the Windies to 4/182 before just like the first match wickets fell quickly. From 4-82 they lost 6 for 92 wich left them at a score 276 thanks to four wickets from Johnson and 2 a piece for Lee and MacGill. Australia were sent in with 9 overs to go for the days and they lost 2 key wickets of Jaques and Ponting to Collymore leaving Australia reeling at 2/33. The two late wickets gives the Windies the edge after day 1 Windies 276 all out from 86.1 overs Aus 2/33 from 9 overs
Day 2
Day 2 and it was almost the same thing that happend in day 1 but the teams changed Australia made a fighting score of 343 thanks to another hundred from Hayden and 50 from Hussey but the big story was Collymore taking 6 wickets and Sammy taking 4 Just like the Aussies last night the Windies had to go into bat for 11 over wich saw Gayle and Chanderpaul fall to Lee and Johnson. The Windies found themselves on 2/49 trailling Australia by 18 runs Windies 276 all out from 86.1 overs Aus 343 all out from 87.1 overs Windies 2-49 from 11 overs
Day 2
Day 3 and its a toss of the coin the West Indies have done a great job in getting to 8/361 with 2 wickets remaining and already a lead of 294 none of the Australian seamers did any big damage infact it was Australias part time spinner Michael CLarke who picked up two wickets the West Indian batting line up batted around Smith who put on a great Hundred Going into day 4 the TAB sports bets give the Windies slightly in front with $1.65 and AUstralia $1.90 Windies 276 all out from 86.1 overs Aus 343 all out from 87.1 overs Windies 8/361 of 110 overs
Day 4
Day 4 and there was nothing to smile about for the West Indies as Australia have pulled of a marvelous performance to make it so they only need 22 runs with 8 wickets remaining Australia lost Hayden early but Jaques and Ponting put together a strong partnership before Ponting fell on 42 and then it was all Jaques and Hussey. Jaques finished day 4 on 144 and hussey on 96 both not out Windies 276 all out from 86.1 overs Aus 343 all out from 87.1 overs Windies 376 all out from 115.1 overs Aus2/288 from 85 overs
Day 5
Day 5 and Australi won in the first 30 minutes Hussey fell early but still reached his century and Phill Jaques ended the match on 150 Australia has now won the series 2-0 with one game to go Windies 276 all out from 86.1 overs Aus 343 all out from 87.1 overs Windies 376 all out from 115.1 overs Aus 3/310 from 91 overs
Adam was happy to talk about his teams win in the 2nd test
Journalist:Mathew Hayden is in great form is age any barrier for this guy?
Adam Giclhrist: Dosent look like it does it i remember when i was playing with him he just keeps on batting as well as he did when he was 20
Journalist:It was an amazing chase by Jaques and Hussey did you expect to win?
Adam Gilchrist:Its a hard one i cant say i expected to win but i wouldve been dissapointed if we had lost
half way through the Press confrence Australian Captain joined us
Journalist:Ricky is it fair to say you have been in great touch
Ricky Ponting:You could say that i havent had the greatest 8 months but thats cricket all i need is one good innings and ill be back dominating all attacks
Journalist:Are you pleased the way your team has played in its 3 games
Ricky Ponting: Very i couldnt be happier
Journalist:Adam back to you is coaching what you imagined it to be?
Adam Gilchrist:Its tough but in cricket the coach dosent have a massive effect on how the players play its more the captains job
On a pitch that wont help spinners at all and days 2,3 and 4 are expected to rain the TAB sports bet heavily favour a draw Windies $3.60 Draw $1.65 Aus $2.20
Ponting at the toss said that the reason to leave Symonds out was the plain fact that this pitch wont help spinners and he rates Watson and Symonds batting the same so he feels that Watsons medium pacers will help Australia more in this match.

Day 1
Maybe the most important day of the 3rd test match as day 2,3 and 4 were expected to be affected by rain Australia got of to a very good start with Jaques and Hayden putting on a 96 run partnership and then ricky ponting and Phill Jaques put on a 64 runs partnership Jaques fell on 80 and hayden on 55. Ricky ponting said at the toss that 300 would be a very good score so 2/160 would have made him very happy at the end of the day Australia found themselves at 6/271 with Haddin 39 and Johnson 21 both not out Windies debut bowler Emrit failed to pick up a wicket finishing day 1 with figures of 16 over 0-53 Aus 6/271 from 93 overs
Day 2
Australia added 67 runs to their score in the morning to get to 338 with Brad Haddin 56 and Mitchell Johnson 49 not out both contributing to Australias score. Day 3
Windies added a handy 55 onto their score and then knocked over Jaques and Hayden wich capped off a perfect morning session for the West Indies but from there it was all Australia with Ponting 85 and Hussey 77 not out both putting West Indies on the back foot Although Ponting fell late on day 3 Australia is right on top with a lead of 312 runs with 7 wickets in hand and 2 days left the TAB sports bets are Windies $8.90 Draw $2.45 Aus $1.70 Aus 338 all out from 115 overs Windies 225 all out from 82.5 overs Aus 3/199 from 53 overs
Day 4

Aus 338 all out from 115 overs Windies 225 all out from 82.5 overs Aus5/339 dec from 99 overs
Day 5
Day 5 and all the Aussies would have been expecting to win the match but two absolutely brilliant innings from D.Smith 152 and A.Richards 116 both not out stopped Australia from winning the 3 match series 3-0 Shane Watson for Australia was the only bright light in the day for Australia Picking up 4 wickets Aus 338 all out from 115 overs Windies 225 all out from 82.5 overs Aus5/339 dec from 99 overs Windies 5/319 from 92 overs
Australia has won the 3 match test series 2-0 dominating all 3 games even though there has been some controversy over Australian captain Ricky Ponting for declaring to late in the last test match that hasnt stopped Australia from celebrating and Adam Gilchrist from being a very happy coach
Journalist:Adam you would have to be very happy with the way the tour has gone so far
Adam Gilchrist: Im very pleased but the key word is "so far" there is still a 20/20 a OD game and some ODI's to be played
Journalist:There has been some controversy over Ricky Ponting declaring to late in the last test what do you think about that
Adam Gilchrist:There wasnt alot we could do with the rain on the fourth day i dont blame Ricky Ponting at all.
Journalist:Looking back at your decision to leave Symonds out and play Watson do you feel it was the right choice
Adam Gilchrist:I do Watson had 2 very solid batting performances and 4 wickets in the last innings theres not alot more i could ask for
