ICC Test Rankings = Stupid?

You seem highly offended, take it easy. First off, this isn't a discussion on ODI cricket, so all of what you said about that will be discarded

That exact phrase ... are we in a coutroom or something. Okay your Lordship. While you are at it why don't you also go ahead and strike out all those WC defeats for Pakistan at the hands of India, from the records too. :)

Now, we're talking about Pakistan playing a lot of "home" test series', discarding all of that, Pakistan are still winning and often winning comfortably. Add to that just beating Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, aren't they away series? Just because they are on the same continent doesn't make them home series. Pakistan have won those comfortably too. Pakistan, over the course of 3-4 years have played the better test cricket, destroyed very good teams and had the most successful test captain. In fact, India's test number one spot was built almost entirely on home test series' for them, so why is there no moaning about that?

Frankly when are you moaning about? When did I in that post say Pakistan have not won at home, or that winning at home is bad. What I said was, India too did beat those same opponents that Pakistan have beaten in recent times, very comfortable when India were at home.

So I really don't understand what you are blabbering about.

Fact is, most modern test sides are winning at home and losing away , with SA, NZ, Aus and Pak being the rare exceptions here. England have India from a few years back (India losing at home further strengthens my argument). The fact is, the rankings are starting to sort themselves out, I still hold SA as number one and it makes sense. NZ or Pakistan as no. 2 and both ranking above Australia, who have played 4 test matches recently, won one emphatically but lost every single other test in embarrassing fashion, especially the previous two ending in 2 and a bit days. That should all factor into the current rankings. SA, NZ/PAK, England, Aus, SL, India seems about right in rankings, taking in everything that has happened in the last 2 or 3 seasons.

Good totally strengthens the point that India have been on 5 consecutive away tours, so its harsh to judge them. Especially as most teams are losing away, so what the problem with India joining that club.

Also that India have lost 1 test series at home in 7 years strengthens ur argument, that India are a weak team at home. Okay your Lordship whatever.

Now, I don't know if you're replying to me when talking about bilateral series' and all that rubbish. You are using irrational, personal arguments for a thread which is about winning test series' and being rewarded for it. Keep the politics and your personally feelings out of it.

Okay irrational is subjective. You may feel that the arguments are irrational. You would be wrong, and its actually you who have made a long speech about absolutely nothing at all. Even so okay you can think the things I said are irrational. I will give you that right. However to say I have been personal, you have totally lost it.

So please if anything, spare me the trouble of having to read another long essay on nothing whatsoever connected to what I have said, and calm the fk down.

PokerAce, you seem high. You brought up bilateral series and world cup and all this stuff, I haven't mentioned any of that and it is completely besides the point. Plus, stop making this a Pak/India thread, it's far more important than that. You're clearing a disturbed Indian fan, keep that stuff outside.

Can you even understand a word of English. That highlighted portion shows you clearly can't write in English. Plus you keep replying with nonsense after nonsense, not even remotely connected to what was posted earlier.

Also you are the one who willingly jumped in and wrote a thesis on Pakistan doing so well, and how its defeats to India should be ignored or stricken from the records or some such bullsh!t like that.

You just seem interested in wasting my time. Done talking to you.

From great power comes great responsibility.

:lol

Power and responsibility! Does the PCB even understand those words? Or should I recap you on some incidents? :lol

The BCCI is a lot of things, but there are a few things worse than the PCB. May be, some of their fans.

Famous saying in English- 'People that live in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones at others.'

I don't think the PCB has a glass house, since you're not the BCCI but you get the drift. Yeah?

Wow your response is to quote Spiderman.

So I will just give you a thumbs up for that quote. :)

It's a stupid quote from a desperate fan. It's not the cricket teams fault (players) that they have to tour so many abroad tours.

I find it rather convenient to blame the players and the board for poor performances when it suits someone, but not take responsibility for actions much bigger than cricket when it comes to their country and their board and their players.

It's hypocritical.

We've gone well well away from the subject of this thread now and I think that everyone's opinion has been fully expressed so there's no need to keep this thread open any longer.
