I was just watching some pictures at Cricinfo, then I saw this picture;

Gerrie Snyman is run out for 196 ... and he still ended up on the losing side, Namibia v UAE, World Cricket League Division Two, Windhoek, November 28, 2007

Unlucky, was the first thought that came to my mind. But later I realised that they were playing with coloured kits, so it had to be a 50 over game...
Then I found the scorecard;

WOW!
196, and then he got run out. 7 fours and 17 sixies! A strike rate of 173.45!
Amaizing...

There have also been more interesting games in this tournament, one where UAE beat Argentina by 304 runs
Nice to see Argentina play cricket at this level, they had some good batting displays I must say. Snyman also had some other great big hitting scores in this tournament.

Snyman is a pretty good player, especially in First Class cricket. Superb innings though, especially considering he came in at #4 when his side were under a reasonable amount of pressure.

The game itself is almost comparable to that ODI.

Nothing will beat that in any of our lifetimes i'm sure.That was a freak of a game.

17 sixes MUST be some sort of List A record?!

I'm pretty sure it is. The most sixes in an ODI innings is just 11, which has been done a few times. Ali Brown may have beaten it though in either of his double centuries.

Great batting by Oman, they beat UAE!
Denmark won against Argentina, and Namibia clinched a low scoring thriller against Uganda :)

Does this mean he has the highest score in the world for 50 overs?

Nope.

Ali Brown got 268 in a Surrey v Glamorgan 50 over match at the Oval in 2002. A different Surrey v Glamorgan match holds the record for highest innings too, in 2007 (496/4)
