As Brandon Flowers oh so rightly put it in one of his songs, "It's Indie Rock & Roll For Me!".

Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is the thread that worships the greatest form of ear porn in the world; Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll.

You won't find mention of any pop princessess/slags like Aguilera, plastic boybands such as Take That and of course, none of that Emo drivel either.

The Reading & Leeds festival is the next big event on the Indie calendar and it's one I look forward to with great excitement. Top artists like the Arcitc Monkeys, CSS, The Cribs, The Twang, Muse, Kaisers, The Killers, Jamie T, Kasabian, Klaxons, The Fratellis, Maximo Park plus the rest that i've ever so unfortunatley forgot.

So i'll start by asking this, what is your favourite Indie band at this moment in time?

The Klaxons, since I saw them live a week or so ago. I literally can't get enough of them!

Haven't seen the Klaxons live in the flesh but i've seen Youtube vids. Is it me or do they sound more gritty when live? It's brilliant.

Yes they do.
They all have fairly rough, raspy voice, but it works really well live.

As far as live bands go though, my favourites have to be Killers, Kaisers and the Arctics. Flowers, Wilson and Turner are amazing frontmen who have a great commanding of the stage and the audience. You can't go wrong with Muse either; Matt Bellamy is a fecking legend.

I've got the new Maximo Park album. Was a bit disappointed by the latest Arctic Monkey's one - all the songs sound exactly like the first album.
I went through a phase of really liking Morning Runner too but then I realised that only one song on their album was any good...
There are a lot of good Scottish Indie bands around atm whom I wish I had the time to say. My mate's brother's band have a big gig tomorrow night which I can't make. They're called The Scottish Enlightenment so watch out for them :) (got played on Radio 1 last week).

Oasis, if they could be considered an indie rock band. :p

i just cant vote on this one. Razorlight are amazing cant go wrong there, arctic monkeys produce hit after hit and only 2 or 3 songs have been **** out of there 2 pro albums. Kaisers are legends along with kasabian. the killers produce memorable songs so im stumped here.

muse are the best band on that list and i wouldnt regard them as indie
