Joypad Usage

Is there no back button when you use a joypad? I have been playing happily with my joypad, but every over if I wish to look at a scorecard I have to go over to my keyboard to use the escape key to get back to the game.
Is there a way around this?

No, don't think so. You need the escape key to call up the menu and also go back in it.
