Greenbay take charge early
Greenbay has dominated the start of play here against the Chargers in this Pre Season Match. A great running play has been displayed by the Packers which is keeping the Charges from mounting a attack.
A brilliant throw from the Quarterback set the game up early for Greenbay. A beautiful 60 yard pass down the ground saw the start of things.
As you can see from the graphics here. The ball starts with the Quarterback here, basically on the defence line of the oppositions offence. It was good blocking from the defence, which aloud the Quarterback to have so much time to pick the right running offencer. The reciever started running from the left side of the field, but before he caught the ball, he was running towards the boundary line on the right side of the field, about 60 yards away from where he started. It was a great throw from the Quarterback which he threw into space.
It was such a well timed throw from the Quarterback. That the receiver didn't have to break stride to catch the ball. It was a difficult catch to make, having his back turned to where the ball was being thrown. He had 3 opponents snapping at his heels, but he had a good 5 metres between him and his opponent. He took the ball cleanly and gained another 10 yards by running the ball, before he was tackled into the ground.
Unfortunately for the Packer's they couldn't do anything with the ball since that throw. They had 3rd down and 5, until they had to give the ball up to the Charges. They tried for a field goal, but it was unsuccesful. Chargers now onto the attack. But the Greenbay pressure was intense. The Charges offence was out of sorts today, and Greenbay were taking advantage.
The Chargers Quarterback didn't have much time, unlike the Packers Quarterback to get rid of the ball. In this next screen you can see the blocks the Chargers have for their Quarterback. But the Greenbay player's easily broke through the attacks, and ended up one stage sacking the Quarterback. Greenbay are fired up and here to play today.
