i just played as queensland against essex on easy difficulty in the funnest game ive played so far! i was litterally on the edge of my seat when it came down to the last over, it was the most tensional moment ive ever felt playing a video game, heres how the game went:
teams: queensland bulls (me), essex (cpu)
match conditions: easy difficulty, 20over one dayer, normal pitch, cool temperature
essex won the toss and elected to field first, i started off very slow while my batsman got settled, being 0/15 odd off the first 4 overs, i was then thrown into frustration as jimmy maher got clean bowled trying to play a cover drive, i swung a fraction too early and off stump was soon skidding back towards the keeper :sorry: , soon after that i got frustrated at the slow run rate and went for an early slog with martin love, i scored two 4's before the confidence meter kicked in and he got caught & bowled trying for a slog down the ground. by now matty hayden's confidence was about 1/3 full so i decided to play it safe for a while, well it payed off, untillllllll carsledine was bowled playing across the line on the stumps (one of my idiotic moments
:sorry: ) i was 3/73, after around 13 overs gone. from here on in it was a batting dream! haydens confidence soared and he smashed boundary after boundary as i went for the slog in the last 5-6 overs, perren also go a few runs as hayden & perren scored over a 100 run partnership. hayden ended up being 98 not out at the end of the innings as i managed to lift the run rate from a pathetic one to a massive one, being 3/201 after my 20 overs.
my bowling started phenomonely with kasprowicz and bichel both picking up early wickets, at one point i had essex at 3/27, unfortunately though the next F.O.W was 4/152 when seccombe performed a beautiful stumping off the bowling of hauritz, hauritz got a second wicket 2 balls later to have them at 5/153.
the game ended up coming down the very last over, essex hitting a four on the second last ball of the match to win by 5 wickets. it is the closest game i have played in so far and it was such an awesome feeling, it really got me into the game and made me appreciate this game so much more
