Martins celebrates the late strike​

Martins late strike secures Newcastle United a point in a very tight match against West Ham United as St James Park . West ham started the game with a positive intend to win . They got the goal early in second half when Ashton was able to head in the cross of Solano past Foster . Newcastle United hough dominated the game with their share of possession but they failed to convert many chances . Most closest was Carroll hitting the post from 6 yards out . When Newcastle United looked to be finish Obafemi Martins rescued then with a brilliant strike from 28 yards to earn Newcastle United a point at least . Kevin Keegan had a smile on his face when Martin equalized but he would still be happy with the result as Newcastle United stayed on top of the table .

It was an emotional outing for Jonathan Woodgate as he returned to the Riverside to play against his home club . Newcastle United came into the match with confidence of being at the top after 4 matches . It was a perfect kind of start Kevin Keegan expected before going into this derby . Middlesborough started the game fairly well keeping the ball with them . Newcastle United got a couple of chances in half but they weren't fruitful . Middle in the second half Superb Sub Mido put through ball to Tuncay who was one on one with Foster and he didn't make any mistake as he scored the winning gaol for Boro in the 71th min . Newcastle United attacked after that but they missed a lot of chances . At the end Kevin Keegan's was on the wrong end of the score .
