I got the game yesterday but there was no cd key. I took the game back to the shop and because it was on sale they refused a refund. Is there any other way of finding my cd key?

The Key should be on a single piece of paper on the back of an advert, are you sure you dont have it? You could try asking to exchange it for another copy (I cant see that would be a problem for the shop), failing that maybe contact codemasters direct

dude i've taken the box apart and nothing there. I'll E-mail codemasters and see if anything comes of it, failing that, i just wasted ?18.50.

Yeah, they put it on a silly scrap of paper that most people threw away. Have another look but I know they'll be happy to give you another one if you can't find it.

what sort of information would i have to give them in the E-mail does anyone know? could someone tell me a list of the info please.

I just found on the box that the game is second hand, which explains why the shop had it on sale and why they wouldn't replace it.

That shouldnt affect your consumer rights, even if a product is second hand if you buy it in a shop it must still be free of defects (unless it is marked as defective or soiled) and fit for purpose, which seeing as how you dont have the ability to use it, it isnt.

didnt somebody have some problem? i think if you have a legit cd codemasters will give you a serial because they have that much faith in the cd protection

I regularly buy games in that shop, I don't usually have any problems. I think what it may be though is that they went under new management a month or so ago and the new manager is a bit of a idiot(putting it politely). how do i prove to them that my cd is real and not a crappy rip off. they cant just accept what i say is the truth can they?

well yes, because iirc the 'starforce' i think is UNcrackable, i wouldnt post a cd key or anything in here, but email codemasters explaining the situation, whats there to lose? have a go, good luck

I sent the e-mail and recieved a message saying FAILED. Damn.
