Not Buying Brian Lara Cricket if...........

if it is anything like the original brian lara then it will be amazing. Games should be based on gameplay not neccesarily content, obviously more content the better as long as its useful content.

Good point, it should be based on gameplay, not a massive selection of features that might not neccesarily work

Today's fact of the day from Codemasters is about the stadiums featured in the game:

There are 3 completely licensed stadiums in the game - The Oval, Egbaston and the Rosebowl, while the others are very recognisable even though the names aren't the same (for example, the ground shown in the screens last week).

The stadium in the screenshots last week looked like Lords. Perhaps these 3 licensed stadiums are something to do with the ICC license for the game, these 3 stadia were used in the ICC Champions Trophy held in England last September.
So.......realism of stadiums don't seem to be much of an issue right now.........

In the game Lords will be called "North London". I asked RubberGenius and he said I was on the right track (my codies username is Pepi, like it used to be here.)

I agree. Honestly (and I know this seems a little extreme) I would rather the game have only 4 different stadiums with superb gameplay - instead of a shabby, frustrating, unrealistic CK2004 with 1000 stadiums.

Afternoon- back for a visit.

i think game play can be tweaked through the A I Patches but if you dont have enough stadium u will be bored after playing in the same stadiums.

Suppose if you are playing 5 test series in england or australia then it will look unreal playing in the same stadiums again n again so think again.

Because game is at this time under construction but when its over we cant do anything.

so there will be debate on this now look every person who comes into this thread give me there choice of stadium they want

Everyone can give at least 5 stadiums of each country they want in the game.

There's no chance to get more stadiums in now, stadiums take months to design and build in a game so sadly, no chance. It's a low priority really.

I thought that the Press Release would include a release date but it still is 'Summer 2005'. Has anybody found a website with a expected release date?

The release date is...er...summer 2005. Nah, we're thinking about in the build up to the Ashes. Have a look at the cricket calendar, there's the answer! :)

skatie, look for the ashes schedule at ecb.co.uk

Release Date

I think the release date is July 22nd. It will be day two of the first Ashes test and all games seem to be released on a Friday. ;)

I want it to come out just after my gcse's (june), ill have a long time to fill, though prob get a part time job

As long as it's a brill game I don't care how long it takes to release

I'm tipping July 14.

One week before the First Test.

As a side point, another thing I think Codemasters have going for them is that England have really improved over the last 24 months. This Ashes series is more highly anticipated than those over the last 10 years. So they will be releasing a cricket game just when an air of Ashes excitement has almost reached it's peak. Might tempt other customers who aren't as hard-core as us cricket gamers.

Yep, we're hoping!
