Is there any way to breach the two overseas player limit??? clubs that you start with like derbyshire have 4, and you can just renew their contracts the following year, but they really arent the best you can get (except Michael Di Venuto, hes brilliant). I've played a team online that had something like the best 4 players that havnt retired yet!

So yeh advice or tips would be greatly appreciated since i have 350 000 to burn :P Also is there a way to get a good international player from another team without them having its contract expire? one year i had literally no-one good, every bowler was 25+ and batsmen 40-... Its really annoying when they're contracted to like some club that isnt in england and you cant see the full details. Practically every good player is contracted in their home country.

Those players are probley just kolpak (sp?) meaningthey dont play for their country of choice anymore

no they were real overseas players, uh T. Friend, uh Michal Di Venuto and a 2 others. I actually have 4 overseas players. They arent those ones that uh can play for england and south africa or something, i've got two of those:P

Hampshire have 6 overseas players at the start of the game!!

Derbyshire's overseas at the beginning of the game are M DiVenuto (K), C Bassano (K), T Friend (Zim) and A Botha (SA)

I'm now into my 4th season with Derbys and my "proper" overseas (non-Kolpaks) are Shahid Afridi & Shoaib Akhtar

This is an example, the database makers are absolute idiots to not really notice that there can't be 6 overseas players, especially seeing as they didn't make the mistake last year.

This mistake is one of three things;
(a) Players are incorrectly overseas rather than kolpak (the case with all of Hampshire's except for Warne and Thornely - Ervine, Lamb, McClean and Pothas are all kolpak players in real life)
(b) Players who played for the club as a temporary transfer are included in the game as players on the roster.
(c) They stuff up and put a departed player on the team. This happens with Marcus North, even though he is a Kolpak player in the game, he is still not at Lancashire anymore.

so first question. what are kolpak? are they the ones that can play for both england and something else so that they dont count as an overseas player, or what? One of them, namely Moss, an allrounder is one of those that dont count as an overseas player. and now i know there is obviously no way of getting more than two new overseas players. lol thanks guys

As far as I know, Kolpak players are no longer available for their country in tests and ODIs or ones who can play for England too. They don't count towards the count of overseas players.

oh well, but i am just saying that it says i have 4 out of 2 overseas players:P

anyway can you guys please explain how the hell THIS happened?
i thought the longest contract you can have for an overseas player was 1 year! well i cant go past one year! theres also some others that are 2 years. The other 3 year contract is Nixon Mclean. and no, i'm not an idiot, it says overseas player in the team details screen. and no, they're not kolpaks.

Well Moss isn't a kolpak, but Kolpak players are just players who have excluded themselves from playing for international teams, and are thus not counted as international players.

yeh thats what i thought, anyway i posted the pictures because, if you actually bothered to look at them, these international players have 3 year contracts!
