im about half way through my second season with middlesex, im completely dominating so the game is losing some of its fun. ive noticed that most other counties dont have any overseas players and this is probably why my team is doing so well.

has anyone else noticed that counties stop hiring so many overseas players or is my game just messed up?

From the little County cricket I've played on ICC (up to 2009) I do notice that other teams are more interested in developing English youth than cashing out on internationals.

You dont need a Brett Lee who costs 60000 in your team if you can develop a regen pacer with an under 20 average who costs only 24000 odd. I hate to say this but the AI is indeed smart.

The CPU signs international players in the first 5 years since they are the best. But the regens become better in future years. Although they will have similar averages, a regen in 2025 with a 50 avg is better than a real player with an average of 50 (but they have the same average because of better regen bowlers).

Middlesex is loaded with talent and they have the biggest budget. Try playing with Glamorgan or Derbyshire for a challenge!

Thats right as Ponting with an average of 60 later would average about 43 if it was in 2025 as better regen bowlers come around like ive had guys with average of 13, 14 etc.

i am up to 2050 and the regen bowlers are soooo damn good now. my batsmen that used to average 50+ are now lucky to average 35 in the last 3 years. (no i haven't changed anything in the way i bat, it is just the young bowlers are great)

Yeah this always happens on my games too. After about 2 season, I noticed Surrey weren't taking any overseas players which I thought was strange and they had a whole regen bowling attack! I always have a dilemma about picking overseas players as I want to play my regens and my youngsters to give them the experience but I want to win the competitions and have a successful reign as manager of whatever team I am. I usually take one, sometimes two, batsmen(usually a Wicketkeeper) as I usually have a whole horde of English bowlers.
