Well, I need some feedback. I've made a calculator for PC Fantasy Cricket to make it easier hopefully. I've implemented the conditions which are on the first post of 'Scoring System Explained' thread. It doesn't have the Captain and bonus player thing though. Also, the T20 thing isn't yet done so only OD and Test matches which are actually the same. Might add the left things later.

I'm attaching the setup file. You will need Net Framework 4. Hope some of the FC staff has that and can help me. I want you to try out some of the already scored correct matches by this and see if it works. If possible you can also PM me some scores and matches for me to test.

Please post your feedback here.

I thought the calculator would be scorecard based and with that I mean it would have the same template as a scorecard like this: Tour Match: Indian Board President's XI v Australians at Chandigarh, Sep 25-27, 2010 | Cricket Scorecard | Cricinfo.com

For example I fill in the name Watson and include his batting and bowling figures and in the next tab I could see his score. The same goes with the rest of the players like filling in 'Chawla' in the player that has bowled Watson and in the next tab this is recognised as 30 points for Chawla. It's a bit difficult to do, but that would be good for the people who like to check their current Fantasy Cricket scores.

So one tab is the scorecard, where the scores can be filled in, and in the other tab you can see the players' names and the scores of each player. And in the second tab you could tick in who is your captain and who are your bonus players.

Also it would be handy if you could save the filled in scores temporarily and could load them a later time. This is meant for Test matches, when you can easily upload the scores of the previous day then.

If it cost too much time to create this, never mind then.

That would be much more complicated I think.

You're thinking of a calculator that you can update in real time to reflect the state of the match, and would save the previous calculations

Ah, well. Yes, it will take some time then for sure. But, I'll take this as a project and try to do it. I need each and every scoring detail then for all three formats. If you could please post it here. Everything like the captain, the bonus players, etc.

Yeah. I'll still give it a shot though. I must include I'm not that advanced in vb programming still but what better than trying something new. Also, I want to know one thing, that you calculate all the player scores and stuff manually, right?

We don't calculate it manually, we basically do what you've done with your calculator - we put the number of catches, number of run outs, number of wickets, etc. into a table-like thing and it does the points stuff for us.

Yeah, we fill in the scores what you normally can see from a scorecard. But the points for captain are automatically doubled. As well for the points for the bonus players. We don't have to include 10, 20 or 30 points extra.

:doh Wow, I should have probably asked this first. So, this is of no use then. Ah, well.

I am sorry if I've waisted your time. From my post you can see what I was expecting of it.

And you say our scoring is semi-manual. We've got to fill in the scores and the system calculates the total scores. But it does take time. Scoring a Test match costs about half an hour.

Well it only tells us what the points are after we've submitted the match. Zexy wants to know how many points people have during a match I think.

Actually, even if I make it the way you want it then too you will have to fill in the scores manually right? Or I'm again understanding something else?

I am here to help you mate. We can make this in a day :)

That's both right.

This thread has reminded me of the FC scoring project I had left sometime back. Will try to finish as I find time to help scoring faster and error free. Just if that stupid Cricinfo scorecard had export option.

Also I think if someone can write whole FC game in php then we can replace the current one.
