Possible virus in download section

I don't know much about computers, however after downloading some stuff from Cricket '05 download section I got a message saying that there was a virus attached to my '05 folder. I don't know if an admin should check this out. Just thought I should give a heads up. It could have been a fluke but I am not certain how things like viruses work and get into your computer.

What exactly did you download?

It was either Tutsi's 6.0 patch, Star Sports overlay or Roster Update 2.0. I did it in bulk so I can't be sure

I suggest you scan all files which you download not only from here but from all over the internet.

I know Sam's exe can be identifed as a virus by some AV software although it isn't. Could you post the download link in question.

What Anti Virus do you run Tom?

I highly doubt that any of those would contain a virus. Maybe your PC was infected by a virus from some other source and it infected those files.
Try scanning suspicious files at VirusTotal. It scans the file with over 30 different antivirus softwares.

I use AVG. OK I'm pleased it didn't come from PC

AVG can give 'false positives' infact just the other day on another forum someone had one. The person in question E-Mailled AVG about it.
