Hi Everyone! :)

This is my version 4.0 Cricket 2004 patch.

Things that have changed from version 3.0 and 3.1:
*The CPU bats much better and is more aggresive in ODI's.
*The advance straight drive without power pushes the ball down the long off and the advance straight drive with power goes far enough so that you can't run a single.
*The shots have been made the tinest bit more powerful, not much of a change though.
*The powerful shots now are possible to hit 4's and 6's from them, but you have to time it 100% right otherwise it will most likely go straight to a fielder. It is still very risk so i would save the aggresive shots till the end of the innings.
*Edges have been increased slightly in test matches so that you cant just bludge your way through the innings at 2 an over.

HERES THE PATCH INFO:

This patch is supposed to be used with Sam's Edited EXE.
(get it from www.planetcricket.org at the downlaods section.)

This patch is meant to make Cricket 2004 a challenge to play for the most skilled gamers. (if you are not sure that you are absolutly ready for it don't downlaod it and complain about it being hard!)

The patch changes the following types of matches:
50 over One Day Internationals
45 over One Day Internationals
and Test Matches.

The batting has been made harder for both and so has the bowling. The Pacing files have been edited for the 50 over ODI's, so the CPU should set a decent score and bat through their innings, and also the shots have been made harder to play. It wil be harder to hit boundaries unless you time the shot beautifully.

Edges occur a lot more druing the match and they occur more if you play accross the line of the ball.
The shots have been made weaker, so boundaries are harder to find, placing your shots and quick singles will be how you get most of your runs.
Charging down the wicket is now much harder to play, most of the time the shot it skyed in the air.

When you go to install the patch make sure that the original cricket_pc.gob file is installed in your Cricket 2004 directory, otherwsie the program will not install!

Thats about it for now, please post your reviews, feedback, suggestions, ect.............
All comments are appreciated, good or bad!

Cheers and have fun!

2 runs an over? thats 180 runs per day....isnt that a bit too less??!
I guess a score of 230-250 is considered a good score now days. 250+ is what the Australians manage to do along with the Indians.

OK- Normal Pitch, Aus vs SAfrica 50 over ODI
My immediate impression was that it's heaps easier than the last one. I found it a lot easier to hit 4's off bad balls, which would be realistic if the CPU didn't bowl so many bad balls. The slog shots are pretty good, I clear the field most of the time but most don't go for 4. I was going at 8 an over for the 10 overs I played for, probably need a bit less power on the normal shots.

will try it out later, from what Brad said this version seems to be easier than the previous one

8 an over isnt that bad int the first 10, play the whole match and judge by the final score.

I was moving at 12.5 an over using 3.1, but slowed dramatically after 15 overs with the field restriction in place. My boundaries dried up and wickets fell.

Ended on a score of 294. So 5.88 an over.

Ill try 4.0, but I must say 3.1 was extremely well recieved by me.

thanks fof the feedback Brad, i made the shots more powerful to make it able to hit more boundaries, but obvioulsy i made them too powerful.

also do you lie the idea of being able to hit big shots only with good timming? or do you think that it makes it too easy to score huge scores?

Radaga, are we using this one for the online comp ?

Sounds like we should use this for online comp or at least Ravis latest edition.

Something to bring the scores back in line a bit.

i will hopefully have a version 5 out by then, i'm working hard on it, then we will probably use that one.

but i am still tetsing out tutsi's and Ravi's to see if we may use them.

i will probably decide by Thursday

I downloaded your version 4 but hadnt tried it yet now you have a v5 coming out, I will have to wait for it.

Version 5 will include a patch that will install on the original gob just like before and another patch that will install my patch onto the kit gob.

both files will be the same size (roughly 90kb) so you wont need to worry about the patch being 10mb!

Sweet I will wait until v5.

Means I dont try v4. Yet maybe I will just to see how it measures up.
