Are there real names in the retail version of the game, if not will there be a patch to fix this?

no, but you can change the database file which puts in fake names to the file which has real names from the download demo (once its back up that is)

If a patch was going to be released to fix the names, they would have put them in the game in the first place.

It's as it is because of licensing issues.

but it can be easily changed with the right file, when the demo is backup on the website it will be no problem for you

Get the retail copy and change the DB in the CC Directory with this.

actually ive just realised, you dont even need a new file.
in the cricket coach folder, go in the db folder, then licence folder.
in there you have 2 files
fakeplayers.lnc and fakestaff.lnc

just rename these files as
players.lnc
and staff.lnc

and the game now has real names!!!!!

Mate i have done this and although it does automatically change the names correctly when you look in the database files but when i go on the actual game the names are still fake i am seriously tryin to gwet the real names but am struggling to do it and its annoying please help us out

you have to start a new game after you have renamed the files, save games with still have fake names

i mean when i strart new games and i do type it correctly anyway iv sorted it now by copying demo db folder but now i have done it things keep going weird like in limited overs cricket overs are unlimited for example in 20 20 matches some sides have like 28 overs and so on what is wrong?

well thats a bug, nothing to do with real names and what have you, i know a couple of people apart fropm myself have managed to get the real names by just changing the name of the file.

there is a patch coming out on the 1st of august.
post screenshots of any bugs in the bugs thread if it hasnt allready been put in there if you can as well as this means that the programmers may be able to fix the bug in the patch

Download the above file.

Then extract the zip file into your Cricket Coach 2007 database folder.

This will normally be:

c:\Program Files\Cricket Coach 2007\db\2007

But could be different if you installed to a different location.

If you have done it right it will say "Do you want to overwrite existing file?". Click yes.

Restart Cricket Coach 2007 and start a new game. You will now have real surnames.
